Aussie spinners are lacking variation

Aussie spinners are lacking variation

Just bringing up a few things I have noticed with Hauritz's bowling and Krajzer's bowling.

All these guys ever bowl is an off spinner with occasional but not often enough variations of pace. Not even an arm-ball! Graham Smith is a part time off spinner and bowls one of the best seam up arm balls yet our finger spinners don't seem to be able to do so. You can't take wickets without variation especially at test level.

This also makes Krajzer hitable as they know what's coming out of his hand. One of the best ways to intimidate/scare a batsmen as a spinner is to bowl a straight ball or one that turns the other way to put doubt in the batsmen's mind and lower their confidence of coming down the wicket and playing shots. Especially if they don't pick it.

We need to see more armballs, top spinners, quicker balls and flighted balls. Krajzer bowled a few topspinners in India and i think he got at least 1 wicket with one but bowled none in Australia. A dooser is a big ask but even if the finger spinner bowled a leg cutter (spins the ball with middle finger) it might pick up wickets or put doubt in the batsmen's mind. If they can bowl a doosera they should bowl it and it should be practiced reguardless. Bowlers who don't bowl with variations either have limited skill or sevearly lack cricket smarts or confidence.
Even if the batsmen pick it they still have to play it.

maby you could get more...

I am a spinner too, most of the wickets I get are with my standard dilevery and often with a change of pace.

Because I have variation I get those few extra wickets per game. I also intimidate batsmen with a wrong-un as they feel less confident after seeing it if they survive it. It's like Ponting facing Harbajan, Ponting pushes forward at nearly everything and is not confident about playing shots and using his feet.

At international levle you do need variation. I think if you can only bowl 1 or 2 types of deliveries then you aren't going to go so well.

Also it is spelt Krejza just for the record.

Cheers grapedo for my typo. It's true, just look at how effective Botha's top spinner is. Our bowlers need to be less predictable.
