Making a website is not an easy job but if you’ll follow the basic steps correctly, you’ll surely receive success in your website. Here are some basic steps which you should follow while making a website
Concept
You should decide the concept of your website before buying a domain or creating the website. The concept must be completely unique because websites with similar content hardly gain any attraction or visitors. Your concept must be strong and should be attractive.
Think if someone makes another duplicate Wikipedia. You decide, you’ll visit the original site or the duplicate site.
Budget
The next step after deciding the concept is your budget. You should decide your budget. If your budget is very low, you should not waste it in paid services but if you have a good budget, you must apply for quality services.
Domain or sub domain
After deciding the concept of your website, the next step is to decide whether you are going to use a domain or sub domain. If you are looking for making your website free of cost then you should choose sub domain for you site. If you are able to spend some money, you should go for buying a domain. Remember, a domain name attracts more visitors than a sub domain.
Now choosing a domain name is one of the most important because it gives the first outlook of your website and its content. The domain name must be short (as much as possible), unique and should match with the concept of your website. Domain with only alphabets looks very professional but if you’ll use characters or numbers like “-“or “1, 2, 3”, it won’t look must professional.

Your website must be listed in Google. Google automatically crawls and may reach to your website but you should add it also. You can do it by going to www.google.com/addurl.
Social Bookmarking
Best way for promoting your website is submitting it to social bookmarking services like Digg.com, Stumbleupon.com, dec.icio.us, facebook etc. It has been proven that social bookmarking site are highly search engine optimized and hence they help in building the links and traffic for your website. You must submit your website’s content to social book marking sites.
Building Page rank & Back links
The best free and easy way to build back links and page rank for your website are forums. That’s completely true that advertising website on forum is their rule violation but many forums allow links in the signatures. You should place a link in your signature. The number of posts you will have in the forum will give you number of back links.
