According to that then Hayden will come back into form and then there is no need to suggest Marsh in the first place.

Haydos is 37 age and i don't think that he will come back to form ..Young legs are needed for Australian Team .....

Re: Changes for the Second Test?

I reckon we should throw in a few young blokes, but Marsh isn't ready yet.

We do need to plant a few young seeds in the team though.

Look at the age of some australian players ,

Haydos -37
ponting-35
hussey -over 30
symo-over 30
haddin-over 30

Young legs are needed in every team .

SouthAfrica has good young players.

Re: Changes for the Second Test?

I said we needed young players I didn't disagree with you.

Marsh is definitely not ready though.

Re: Changes for the Second Test?

Shaun is already 25yrs , for how long he have to wait to get a chance .

At the time of getting chance he will cross 30yrs .

Again ArShad he dominated teh 20-20 IPL this year but back in AUstralia he has struggled for runs in all forms of the game.

If he is good enough his time will come. Just not yet.

I don't know why aussie selectors don't pick an young talent who is below 23 yrs .

Its because the australian domestic scene is so strong and once they earn there stripes at first class level they are usually mid 20s already. It is really a huge plus that the domestic scene is so strong in australia.

Re: Changes for the Second Test?

ArShad have you ever seen Marsh bat in the longer form of the game?

I saw him bat on Monday and he looked totally out of it. I can bat aggressively but i wouldn't make any runs for Australia. As others have said Twenty20 has clouded your judgement.

It has got nothing to do with age mate. It has got everything to do with confidence. We know that he has lost his confidence hence the reason why he gets out early.

Sure the umpiring doesn't help when they give dodgey decisions such as the caught and bowled one that wasn't.

I watched IPL matches and i love Marsh . He is not a slogger and he didn't slog in the IPL matches but he got runs at a higher rate .. Even Gambhir and Yuvi are t20 specialists but now they are playing TEST cricket well .

I feel Marsh should be given a chance sooner . I watched some matches of Rogers good technic batsman but will not fit into Haydos position..

How can you even begin to compare Twenty20 form to test cricket? They are completely different games.

If you have never seen Marsh play a Sheffield Shield game all you can judge him by are his statistics which at the moment are very very poor.

Re: Changes for the Second Test?

I don't know why here no one wants Marsh into Test TEAM . Anyway leave this , but mark my words , he will be the main star in all three forms of the game next year.......

That may be so, but he has done NOTHING to suggest he is good enough at the longest form of the game to warrant a Test spot YET. He averages 34.01 at First Class level. That is pretty poor. He is talented, no doubt, but he hasn't figured out his First Class game yet. He'll be a regular fixture in the 20-20 and ODI matches before long, he is a proven performer in those, but he's simply not a Test player yet.
