Get rid of that Pommy prat Nicholas before any of the others.

The way he carries on with his man-love towards certain players is nauseating, and if I hear him say "Maximum" again to describe a six, I'll kill him myself!

How did we end up with Mark Nicholas in the first place, old man Packer would not have sanctioned his employment, surely?

You could not put Nicholas and Warne in the same commentary box, check out the video of Warnes' masterclass with Nicholas from The Cricket Show on youtube. Nicholas needs a bucket of water thrown over him by the end of it and poor old Warnie has a slightly bemused look as if to say " mate, you wont be getting me to bowl from the Paddington end, so stop trying to plant one on me."

What the!!!! indeed , I dont think I will read his stuff or listen to his commentary in the same way anymore.

For instance, this is his headline on the front cricinfo web page at the moment about T20..."It is ok to seek amusement as well as satisfaction, a lesson known by men such as Mozart or Shakespeare.." I read that the other day , and thought nothing of it, but after reading the tele stories anything he says or writes is going to have undertones from now on.

Guys I read all the comments and feel sorry if Mark Nicholas becomes permanent. He tries really hard to be entertaining but he is annoying.. he was on the tv here in SA while Australia toured here and I went through a few session by muting it..

Warney, Heals and Tubby are real good as they can entertainment but be serious and talk the talk.. as far as o'Donnell hr should be made honorary tea boy as he is aweful. The tidbits I have seen..

I hope that you fellas dont get Danny Morrison as he is about as entertaining as watching paint dry ...

I am gonna miss Benaud as he is a legend but the TV channels have to realize that you mjust compliment the product not abuse it..

I don't mind Mark Nicholas to be honest, I think he is a reasonable addition to the team and he also provides a perspective which isn't Australian. I'd prefer him to Tony Grieg and Ian Healy.

With Benaud going at the end of the season, that will leave a spot open. I'm hoping Gilchrist and Warne become regulars in the commentary box in the next couple of years.

healy is pretty smart. don't doubt him cause hes a keeper .

i like the team as it is now, healy and all. hes got a good cricketing brain and he finds the the small details that everyone else misses. i have no problems with the channel 9 team now, i feel no need to turn it off and listen to something else.

im posting here without reading the whole thread, that way i can give my honest opinion, i pretty much like all of the comentators, i especially like ian chappel, he has taught me much over the journey with his insight into the game, ithink he is their greatest asset to be honest, richie may have run his race and then some lol, but i still like him, he"s hard not to like IMO, and by the way, ian healy is a very smart man, i dont mind him TBH, i was pissed off with him when he cheated lara out that time (if you rememeber that) lara would have scored a world record that day and for the only time in my life i was really barricking for a non Aussie player, and healy cheated to get him out on 260 + if memory serves. i do love kerry okeefe on radio i must admit, the man should be a comedian, he has cracked me up many a time lol.

They are a good team, but being an occasional independent viewer the excess nationalism does not go down with me. I much prefer the BBC TMS team, they are a little bit more balanced.


And by the way I do not mind Nicholas so much, as long as I see hear him only.

ABC destroys anything that is remotely good on Channel 9.

They need to be interesting as they don't have the TV pictures to help them out.

I can't really comment on the Channel 9 team, as if I ever do find myself listening to them; I take virtually no notice of what they say.

you may not like the channel nine team, but the are a hell of a lot better then the english one. they are crap and make you want to fall asleep. even when a wicket falls they are still mumbling away whereas on channel nine the whole team pretty much bounces around the room and makes you excited to watch such a long event.
