David Hussey - Where to from here?
I've been agitating for years to give him a go in the middle order for Australia. YEARS. I have been constantly impressed by his first-class performances where he is one of those players just a class above his contemporaries.
Now he's finally getting a go... well, massive disappoinment. He's just looked out of place. He played a good innings the other night in the 4th NZ ODI but aside from that he's looked uncomfortable. I'm watching him in the T20 now and he's just not looking like the class act he is. Voges, IMO a far inferior player, is making him look like an uncertain debutant.
Does he have a real future in the Australian side? Will this future include Test matches? A year ago, I would have said unhesitatingly that if given a chance he'd make himself indispensible, like his brother. Now - not so sure. I can see him bedding down a place in the ODI side if he picks up his act before being dropped, but I've pretty much given up hope of him playing Test cricket.
