Mate you ask who else.

What about:

Waddingham (Macleod
Turner ( Research)
Soysa (Research)
Salvatore (Lower Eltham)
Angelucci (Epping)
McTaggert ( Research)

But then again are you asking for best this year? After Round 4?

May need to review this thread as a "best at Christmas".

Then again to help other posters these are the top 20 Bowlers as at now (1/2 way through rd 5):

1 Salvatore, Christopher Lower Eltham
2 Baker, Paul Mernda
3 Angelucci, Claudio Epping
4 McTaggart, Leigh Research
5 Glynn, Brett Diamond Creek
6 Gibbs, Scott Riverside
7 Adams, Stuart Bundoora
8 Malone, Shannon J Research
9 Mann, Gurinder S Bundoora
10 Keays, Terry Lalor Stars
11 Hansen, Michael J Diamond Creek
12 Burgoyne, Luke Lower Eltham
13 Curtis, Jarrod Lower Eltham
14 Chesterton, Ian W Mernda
15 Gleeson, Stephen Riverside
16 Hall, Richard Eltham
17 Waterson, Steven Diamond Creek
18 Bailey, Brent Mernda
19 Hurst, Philip Epping
20 Redmond, Brent Plenty

And the top 20 batters:

1 Minney, Mark Eltham
2 Smale, Elliot Riverside
3 Zerafa, Brent Lower Plenty
4 Waddingham, Shane Macleod
5 Turner, Glen Research
6 Whitcher, Justin Lower Eltham
7 Kemp, Steve Lalor Stars
8 Salpigtidis, Simon Riverside
9 Soysa, Hannadige m Research
10 Poyser, Luke Lower Eltham
11 Dean, Brad Bundoora
12 Love, David Plenty
13 Johnson, Mark Plenty
14 Ross, Mathew Research
15 Gibbs, Scott Riverside
16 Wilding, Brett Macleod
17 Glynn, Wayne Diamond Creek
18 Connelley, Darren
19 Lever, John Epping
20 Curtis, Jarrod Lower Eltham

Mate I see Curtis from Lower Eltham in both lists but do not see Crompton?

Cheers

Re: DVCA: Best senior 11?

I hear that bloke named 'Arnberger' goes alright... just a couple of runs in some competition called the 'Sheffield Shield'. Anyone heard of him or that competition??? What is the standard like???

i have a feeling he has done more than you bigcricket007, looking at this:

Arnberger started his career with NSW but in 1997-98 he moved to Victoria as the presence of Mark Taylor and Michael Slater at the top of the order had made it difficult for him to get a game. Aged 31, he suffered a back injury which nearly ended his career but he came back strongly, scoring 639 runs with three hundreds and repeated his good performance with 721 at 45.06 the following season as he went on to win the Player of the Year award. His highest First Class score came against New South Wales in Lismore, making 239 not out. He finished his career in seventh place on Victoria's leading run getters with 5505 at 42.01. He is also in the record books with a partnership of 353 with Matthew Elliott against Tasmania. He is only one of 3 Victorian batsman to have twice scored a hundred in each innings of a match

Ummmm, am I missing something? You've clearly missed the obvious sarcasm in my above comment.

I was just throwing his name out there (because for some stupid reason no-one else has mentioned it). If I was picking the D.V.C.A team today, next week, or 3mths away... his name would be the first on the list, because as you said - 'he has done more than me, and ANYONE else in this competition'

It is a credit to the bloke that he is giving back to the local level, and we're lucky that it is in our competition.

i basicly picked a barclay shield side, i wouldnt mind seeing a barclay v money game i reckon it would be alot closer than ppl think.

yeah zerafa is another one i just couldnt fit in there, i know he played in the comp side last yr and i know he scores plenty of runs.
But i had to fit a keeper in there and i thought well turns can do it, lovey took plenty to 4 prems in a row would be a great captain skips prob the best bat atm yarra has had 10 - 15 years of dominating same with witcher. its actually bloody hard to pick. a 2nd side would be just as competative

Poyser
Connelly
Malone
Zerafa
Gunn
Smale
Waddingham
Keays
McTaggart
Adams
P.Hurst

Re: DVCA: Best senior 11?

for the reputation surrounding the bloke, this rosbrook from plenty hasnt seemed to make a big impact.
would he make the comp side to play the HDCA/JIKA games ?

Has played about roughly 5 years of district cricket. Formerly a Plenty a junior. For me a walk up start.

Re: DVCA: Best senior 11?

I still don't understand how any of you blokes have left Arnberger out of your best senior XI's. Last I checked, he fitted the criteria:

- is a senior cricketer
- plays D.V.C.A

As good as all our DVCA local legends are... none of them has over 6000 FIRST CLASS runs.

Just a quick question also... what is with the lack of Money Shield blokes nominated? If Shane Warne was playing at a Money Shield club... would he get looked over because he isn't grinding away with the 'big boys' in Barclay?

Just because a club is in a lower grade, doesn't make a talented individual any less of a cricketer... there is some decent talent floating around in Money Shield. Anyway, thats just MY opinion.
