For the structure next year can we go back to Shield and Shield reserve.
Changes as follows:
Barclay Shield
Banyule (No change)
Diamond Creek (No Change)
Epping (No Change)
Heidelberg (No Change)
Macleod (2nds up from C Grade) - Would be tough as they ended up 2nd bottom, but were not too far off the mark.
North Eltham (No Change)
Research (2nd stat up instead of being relegated to C Grade)
Riverside (No Change)
Rosanna (No Change)
Bundoora Park (Up from D Grade)
Rosebank (Up from D Grade) - Finalists in D Grade
Only Macleod and the winner of the Money Shield final will have to change their 2nd Grade division. Not a big task IMO
Money Shield
Bundoora (No Change)
Bundoora United (Drop from B Grade to C Grade)
Eltham (No Change) Given 2nd won D Grade Grand Final
Lalor (Dro from B Grade) - Would be strong
Lower Eltham (No Change)
Mernda (No Change)
Montmorency (Drop from B Grade)
Plenty (Up from D Grade) Lost D Grade GF
Rosebank or Bundoora Park (Both 2nds would need to jump a grade)
Hurstbridge (Up from D Grade)
Laurimar (No Change)
Mash Shield
Greensborough (Up from E Grade)
Lower Plenty (No Change)
Mill Park (No Change)
Old Paradians (No Change) - 2nds coming back to D Grade
Panton Hill (Up from E Grade)
South Morang (Up from E Grade)
Thomastown (No Change)
Thomastown United (No Change)
Whittlesea (Up from E Grade)
Laurimar and Hurstbridge (See above)
This would make the draw some much easier for all concerned.
3rd Grade would look like.
Banyule (From C Grade)
Diamond Creek (From F2)
Montmorency (From D Grade
Riverside (From C Grade)
Lower Plenty (GF from F1)
Lalor Stars (Finalist in F1)
Rosanna (F1)
Epping (F1)
Rosanna, Epping and Dimond Creek may think the jump is too high. A team like Laurimar or Heidelberg may want to push themselves up.
The above Shiled reserve and 3rd Grade equals the current 48 teams in B, C, D, and E
4th Grade for Riverside would being very strong (but their 5th grade team was under strength).
This draw would stop some clubs 3rds playing against some clubs 5ths.
Just a thought on a Tuesday, cause there is no training.
