Ford Ranger Cup Thread 2009/2010

Re: Ford Ranger Cup Thread 2009/2010

Western Australia winding up for a go at the bonus point, if these 2 can stay in there for a bit longer should be a decent chance with Marsh and Ronchi still to bat.

Re: Ford Ranger Cup Thread 2009/2010

Good win with the bp for WA, Pomers blasting them all around the ground and M.Marsh showing what all the hype is all about with his cameo innings.

Re: Ford Ranger Cup Thread 2009/2010

lmao that's hilarious, after getting Katich out Hodge just about yorked Henriques on the second bounce.

Re: Ford Ranger Cup Thread 2009/2010

Does anyone know why domestic games have no allowances for rain? If an ODI only lost 30 mins play they wouldnt cut the overs at all

Re: Ford Ranger Cup Thread 2009/2010

Nathan Bracken is back and in form.

As for the question above, I would probably say because domestic matches aren't as important.

Re: Ford Ranger Cup Thread 2009/2010

George Bailey finally gets an ODD ton off only 101 balls, great knock.

Re: Ford Ranger Cup Thread 2009/2010

So Tassie locks in the away team spot for the final, now down to QLD and Victoria to decide who hosts them

Re: Ford Ranger Cup Thread 2009/2010

If WA win and NSW or SA can take the double bonus point they will finish second. I don't know why the commentators haven't brought this up yet.

Re: Ford Ranger Cup Thread 2009/2010

Because none of those 3 scenarios are likely

When was the last time a team actually got a double bonus point?

Re: Ford Ranger Cup Thread 2009/2010

Never mind, I decided to not be lazy and do it myself :D

Code:
Teams Mat Won Lost Tied N/R Pts Net RR
Queensland 9 5 4 0 0 21 +0.249
Victoria 9 5 4 0 0 21 +0.151
Tasmania 9 5 4 0 0 20 +0.148
Western Aus 9 4 5 0 0 18 -0.079
NSW 9 4 5 0 0 17 -0.174
South Aus 9 4 5 0 0 17 -0.336

Re: Ford Ranger Cup Thread 2009/2010

Seeing as from memory the head to head still exists here

Tasmania and QLD are tied, NSW and WA, SA and WA also all tied so it wouldnt have any affect there, comes down to NRR if seperating any of them

Victoria has the advantage over Tassie though

Should Tasmania perform the ultimate choke, then Victoria and QLD will probably just hope for rain :D

With both teams needing it to get through it's as likely as ever. It's almost impossible to do batting first, you need to bowl first and get the other side out for <160 to have a real shot at it, which isn't completely out of the question.

Re: Ford Ranger Cup Thread 2009/2010

That would've been an interesting run out lol.

North gets Bailey, big wicket.

I would have thought it easier to do batting first by making 300+ then bowling the opposition out for less than 150, although still the same scenario really, need to get them out cheaply either way

Re: Ford Ranger Cup Thread 2009/2010

Yes you're right, I was under the impression that to get it bowling second you needed to bowl the other team out within 25 overs, but I see now you just need to restrict the other team to half of your score or less.
