How do non-Aussies land a side to support?

Just curious if cricket fans watch/follow various sides.
Do you get a fav all-rounder then just follow him?

Also any suggestions on which side may be right for me?

Thanks so much.

P.S. Go easy on me, I'm total novice.

here in Australia we generally just follow our state side and obviously our national side

ie. i am from Adelaide, South Australia, so i follow the South Australian Redbacks...despite how much of a laughing stock they are to the rest of the nation.

i'm sure the same goes for most people on this board,

Victoria, Queensland, New South Wales, Tasmania, Western Australia

hope that helps for a start

I go for Australia and Victoria. Some choose to adopt an English county side as well, I go for Hampshire for the great man KP and the greater man Warney. Some also choose to take an underdog minnow as a side, I greatly follow Kenya in addition to the three sides mentioned. You will pick up and players as you like the more you follow the game, and that can usually lead you to supporting a side.

I follow Australia internationally and Victoria for the state league, and I also have a soft spot for Sri Lanka and the West Indies
