Will be the best bowler in the aussie attack come 3-4-5 years
Statement = False

3 years time, best bowler = Lee (32)
4 years time, best bowler = Lee (33)
5 years time, best bowler = Lee (34)

;)

I donno, Without pace Lee isn't that great and I don't see him getting near 160 / high 150s ever again :(

Re: mitchell johnson

Lee's a f***ing gun either way, can hold the willow as well. Could bat at 3 in one dayers if he wanted to. Irfan Pathan like.

Clutching at straws

Johnson could be our next solid bowler, he has the ability but has been injury proned of late. Will be an exciting time either way.

You've got no idea. Lee is a handy lower-order batsman, he hasn't got the skills or ability to bat higher up the order at international level.

Johnson is also improving as a bowler, he may not be the best bowler going around but he is improving and could possibly be the future of Australian cricket. His form of late has been impressive.

correction: could, try will. and his form has been great, for a guy in his first year.

and uh south swans....are you just having an off couple of days or do you often talk abolute rubbish??? please 4-11 against India a hack-job, and lee batting at 3!!! hahah

Re: mitchell johnson

Mate, one good game doesnt make you good. He got plastered around at first class level and has only played well twice at international, so dont question my opinion before you can get your facts right.

but didnt, and got spanked around up to that point.

Career stats before DLF cup:
Code:

5 0 0 - 0 0 3 2/24 58.00 0 0 0

Career Domestic stats:
Code:
class mat balls runs wkts bbi bbm ave econ sr 4 5 10
First-class 17 2739 1564 55 6/51 28.43 3.42 49.80 2 2 1

Does that look like the next great hope? If so then Australian cricket is doomed for a while to come...

Re: mitchell johnson

come on, 17 matches and average of 28? nothing wrong with that. Give him time and he will develop. Can you honestly say you don't want another left armed Lee? I don't think he is ready for the starting ashes XI maybe dead rubber when we are 4-0 :D

Re: mitchell johnson

Before his 4/11 against India he was averaging over 30 in one day cricket, and nearly 60 in international one dayers. Clark, Gillespie, Tait, Kasprowicz, Bichel, Denton, Hilfenhaus, Rofe, Harwood and Dorey should all be in before this guy. Watson beats him on bowling alone. And we havent even considered MacGill in all this. Australian selectors and Australians in general would be very short sighted to consider this domestic hack in their long term plans.

End rant.

Re: mitchell johnson

Johnson is nowhere near ready for test cricket, absolutely no way. ODI's is a far different story. In the DLF Cup and so far in the Champions Trophy he's bowled very well.

Hell, why don't we just bring Fred Spofforth out of retirement. Gillespie is struggling to even take wickets for South Australia.

SouthSwans said:

Yes for tests and ODI's, needs to get some form back.

SouthSwans said:
Kasprowicz

He's miles past it.

SouthSwans said:

Hack. Can't keep his mouth shut.

Over 30 years of age.

Too early to tell.

SouthSwans said:

No.

SouthSwans said:

What has Harwood done to be considered for Australian selection?

SouthSwans said:

Maybe. Needs to get the form of last season back.

Watson isn't a great choice for the long version of the game but is a good player in the ODI's. MacGill would be playing for Australia if Warne wasn't around.

Johnson started off shakily but is slowly finding his feet. His recent form has been quite good, the selectors won't write him off unless he has a shocking run of form. Johnson will get better.

Re: mitchell johnson

Johnson will be a star, stating he is a hack is just laughable.

Re: mitchell johnson

4-11 and 3-40, thats two performances... you're judging him as a star on TWO performances..... jeezzz

Re: mitchell johnson

His stats aren't that bad, remember he is coming back from serious back injuries and is only 24.

He will be a star of the future with Tait, you couldn't be further from the truth SS. Fine if you don't like him so be it but he will be a good bowler and prove you wrong.
