I seriously do not know what is wrong with him. He bursts onto the scene troubling Steve Waugh at the MRF Pace Foundation, destroys England in a Tour match, kinda does the same in his test debut bowling the odd ball over 140kph and even approaching 145kph whilst bowling impecable line and length and getting Mcgrath esque skid and bounce off the pitch, but since that match, his pace has dropped as has is accuracy and now on merit does not deserve to play for India.

Shows he's not mentally tough.

You can have all the attributes of greatness in the world but if you lack that final 1%, it'll never happen.

Hopefully, he can sort himself out and get back out there playing good cricket but it sounds like he needs to grow up a little bit and prove people wrong with the ball and not words.

At the age of 24, he has not got long to earn a place before the BCCI deem him 'over the hill' and look to younger, faster fast bowlers. I really like watching him bowl when he is on song but that has not happened since his debut series. He has the best FC average for almost anyone to have played for India and should be persevered with. I believe that fitness regimes are the key for him as well as coaching at MRF which heavily disappointed when they promised he was 'Back up to Speed' but did not disappoint with Irfan Pathan who was clearly willing to put in the time and effort.

Re: Munaf hurt by speculation over fitness

he should work on fitness instead of getting hurt if he get dropped... pathan bowls at 130 but we also need fast bowler who bowls near 150 kmph consistantly

Looks like that bowler will not nor will it ever be Munaf.

He’s not fit, not intense enough, needs to show more commitment— that’s the official version. but Munaf Patel

STRETCHED out on the white, crumpled bed in a dark hotel room near the railway station in Pune, curtains drawn, sheets pulled up to his chin, the left hand limp, clutching the muted TV remote, the Twenty20 fireworks exploding in a blur before him, the life of one India’s most promising fast bowlers today hangs on one word: Izzat.
