$4,500, surely that isn't true? Not even AB1 is worth that much ;)

Lara have reportedly thrown around some big numbers for the 2 Ballarat blokes they recruited. Have heard $10,000 from a pretty good source.

not sure about cash but they have got two decent players across from Ballarat in Dan Wright and Nathan Yates, who must have moved to Lara and would be great pick ups. With Yates being the stronger player, may have played Country week last year for them.

Hard Hitter, can you confirm if the guy who got stuck into blokes for leaving NDCC in the first place who then did the same, then committed to coaching AT, then after that went to a meeting with Highton and demanded $4,500 to play, Highton pulled out his stats and it ended there, who then quit AT to go and return to Thomson as asst coach and has now pulled the pin on them also is now going to return back to the dinos or not.

I can confirm that he hasn't left NDCC and is playing for us again this season. As for talking with other clubs, that's his business he had his reasons and at the end of the day he couldn't leave NDCC.
That being said he is well aware of the backlash he will cop and is expected and will cop it on the chin.... so if it is that important to you, get it all off your chest, let it out and move on. :D

Crktluva, I'm certainly not offended. You put it out there and have taken it back, so good on you for that. ;) Yes he is definitely with us.

Good luck in the 2's if you play and watch those ankles... or there is always the supporters bar for a few refreshments!!!! ;)

I have also heard on the grapevine South Barwon have picked up a batsman from Bendigo named Young or something like that who played Vic Country with hornet, he has moved to Ocean Grove and will be playing for the swans. IPL has kept this one quiet!!! along with their 3 other recruits they must already be Flag favourites.

Almost right, the name is correct, he played Country Week for Ballarat when they beat Geelong two season's ago, but he has not played Vic Country. We were lucky enough to find that he had moved into town prior to last season but he decided to have a year off but is keen to go this season. He was curating for Leopold last season on their practice wickets but things did not work out well there. He actually played against us in the T20 game when we played Mt Clear. Should be a good addition to our top order. The other three recruits will still be pending clearances. I would rather be flag favourite come Grand Final day than July, and a lot can happen in cricket. Will be a very even comp this season.

Possibility of any Sth Barwon home-grown blokes in your 1st XI this season?

I think you will find the three leading 1st XI number of games played in the history of the club would be playing in their somewhere along with one or two others. And when do you start counting guys as being South players, after how many seasons ? I am sure if you ask Ando he would say he was a South player thru and thru now. As well as having a 1st XI we have 6 other sides which are pretty much home grown South players. Right spot at the right time Renny.

Agree and i'm not throwing stones here by any stretch but from my reckoning; A Ford, D Hester, B Anderton, C Ford, K Ford, D Koliba, P Hunt, J Babb, (?) Young; would all form part of your best XI or at least close to it and all have been recruited in the past season or two. Don't get me wrong, recruiting is important but would you ever draw a line? You know i would have the same discussion if we were sitting at the bar over a couple of frothies....

Filthy is captaining our seconds this season, we are not sure if Babbsy will be able to get weekends off as last season he could only play a handful of games for us and might be the same this season. Newcomb will need to speak to their players before clearing them. I think you always need to recruit year after year as you do always loose players. Like this year your club picked up a couple of our turf players. Next year we might not pick up anyone. I think it is about getting the right people in that will help your club and not just anyone. Anyway time will tell. Just see how this season evolves but I can tell you as a club we are raring to go for this season !!

And I know you love to stir Renny :D

Again, i agree, it is very important to recruit the right people more than the right player. From my time at the helm of the club we always tried to keep this at the forefront of our minds and you always try and at least cover what you lose. We are in a similar position and have recruited quite well for this coming season, perhaps more so than in recent years. Boyd and Hambrook will make great additions to our 1st XI and hopefully we can trade off on some of the great service and form that Hester and A Ford have given the Swans. Like yourselves, we are raring to go and should hopefully put about 8 players into the turf squad.

I heard on the grape vine adam williams for ndcc will stand up in the ones as the keeper batsman..great chance for him..been improving over the last 2 years and really deserves this oppurtunity. good luck.

So in conclusion, don't think of the Hauensteins as Grovedale Uniting players at a new club, and Renny, we'll pretend those 3 games at Murghe in the early '90's never happened as you're a St.Peter's man through and through.
