A couple of people have mentioned Hughes, and while I am a HUGE fan of him in First Class cricket, being a NSWman, he has been impressive without dominating in the 50 over form. There are far better ODI options than Hughes. Katich is one of them. Hodge is another.
With Ponting and Marsh out, I'd have:

Katich/Clarke
Hodge
Clarke/Katich
D. Hussey (prefer him at 5, not as good with the tail as Mike is)
M. Hussey
Haddin
Hopes
Johnson

With Hopes opening may as well add White to no8 for some extra batting depth, maybe bring in Ferguson for Hussey later on as he is probably due a rest

Well it is my opinion so I will post what I like thanks very much.
I never jump on your back about starting up a whole apprecitation thread about a bangladeshi all rounder who averages 27 with the bat and 32 with the ball and talk him up like he is some prodigy when he is an average cricketer playing in a below average team.
Also I forgot about the wicket keeper slot but we are all human and if you think including the leading wikcet taker in the ford ranger cup team into the national side is rubbish then that says alot about the pathetic state of Australian domestic cricket then dosen't it.

233 runs @ 55 and 11 wickets @ 10 in the last month suggest he is an excellent cricketer.
Number one ranked all-rounder in the world in one dayers. Ranked higher than the likes of Kallis. But obviously he is average.
Anyway, that thread is just a bit of fun. Focusing on the positives on Bangladesh cricket instead of the numerous negatives that there are.

He has now been called for chucking. The ball he bowls at around 140 km/h is a chuck and he has got alot of wickets with it. He's an average bowler who has had a fairly good season. Just because he's the leading wicket taker doesn't make him the best bowler.
