any predictions for this league....??

Hoppers, Doutta, Greenvale and Strathmore will be the top 4 teams, Sunshine Druids look to be struggling for depth and will be in the bottom couple.

Its not that I dont rate Westmeadows or their recruits (amazing how everyone recruits guns at this time of the year). Hoppers have been finalists in the old Senior A 4 or 5 times in the last 5 years. Logically this new grade will be slightly weaker than the old Senior A just by the division of clubs, so that should ensure they are very good again. Doutta have been the equal of any Senior Division club in the last 10 years and I would think they will not be keen to be out of the top division for to long. Greenvale look to have recruited some district players to mix in with some reasonable talent and Strathmore had plenty of batting talent last year in Senior A, but couldn't win a close game, after being runner up the previous year. Sunshine United struggled last year and their 2nds were also only average, so unless they have recruited really well may be in the bottom 4 as well.

But who knows, a couple of good recruits can turn an average side into a very good one, and visa versa, not much needs to go wrong for good teams to struggle (eg: Strathmore last year)

re: North Division 10/11

fair points...
on the 2nds id say it will be a pretty tough campaign for a lot of the sides who came up as they had weak 2nds in the lower division...
any idea who from the division above would be strong..??
id say strathmore/hoppers/greenvale/douttas again maybe....
tulla there abouts ...

It is with great pleasure to announce Michael Butera as Captain/Coach for 2009/2010 season.
Michael is a quality person with a cricketing background at district level.

What Michael brings to the club, is a not only strong focus & playing ethic but also, skills development from the bottom up, beginning with fitness and a disciplined approach to all facets of the game.

As you will see from the attached letter from Michael and detailed winter fitness scheduled, he is focused on a positive start to training, leading into the season.

re: North Division 10/11

interesting 1st rnd of results good start by Keilor, Druids and Strathmore some early worries maybe for united and parkville both rolled very easily. Also would be nice to get all the results put up.
Who will be strong this year?
Who will struggle?

re: North Division 10/11

douttas v greenvale both 1ss and 2nds no start...
both grounds no hope of getting up ... rain early in the week put an end to that...
so dont expect results from these games... both drawn...
both will be strong ...

douttas dropping down from premier...playing sides coming up from north A to new north will be strong... they would have picked up a few no doubt at all...

I was told he informed the club he had to move to Adelaide for work so he could not honour his contract as captain coach at Preston Druids and if his work situation changed he would be available to come back does any one know how he ended up at Westmeadows a few weeks later

re: North Division 10/11

interesting round of results hoppers still anchored to the bottom early on looks like Greenvale will be a tough side with the aquisition of Dale Mcdonald to aid pizaro and innes they will be the side to beat!!

re: North Division 10/11
