I know I'm likely to face argument about McGain, but he has a List A bowling average of 26.6 and an economy rate of 4.15, great numbers in my opinion

I agree that McGain is the best one day option however we need to blood some youngsters in the shorter form of the game. It's a good way that we can develop our younger bowlers. Will McGain be around for the 2011 World Cup? I don't think we can guarantee that so we should be looking to develop our options for this tournament.

If he is fit for the tour of South Africa and in form he must play in the tests imo but that discussion is for another time.

Reserves:
Marsh
Ferguson

Nannes
Hauritz

Maybe even swap Symonds for Ferguson or North, as Clarke and D.Hussey could get through 10 overs between them

I don't think Heal will be there as he is currently playing for a 2nd WA 11.

Heal has played all 7 of Western Australia's Ford Ranger Cup games so far this season taking 10 wickets @ 25.40 at an economy of 4.16 rpo.

Well in South Africa's second tour match the two dayer against the Western Australian 2nd 11 he played.

I think that we should only choose a spinner if they have are ready for international cricket. We shoudn't chuck in young spinners hoping that they will perform and then they end up getting slogged.I'd be happier with 4 pace bowlers and James Hopes/Symonds or Clarke chipping in to finish the other overs.

Marsh, Hopes (Rogers best option however), Ponting, Clarke, M.Hussey, D.Hussey, Haddin, Siddle, Johnson, Heal, Bracken

White (Usually always have 2 all rounders in the squad, Macca aint an ODI option)
Hilfenhaus


Lee, Symonds, Watson all unavailable, Hayden finished
Hodgey may come in at some point but probably the usual 1 off replacement when Ponting needs a break

Just named the 13 as thats all they usually named for the Commbank games

I would have said that before the t 20 tonight as well. But after Warner's knock I think he and Hopes should open the batting.

Just thought I would point out the weaknesses in the side in my eyes at least. Have MArsh and Hopes opened the batting together in an odi yet apart from Bangladesh ? Because I think Steyn, Morkel and Ntini can expose them.

I also think that Hilfenhaus and Tait will be targetted as they both were in the second t 20. I think it is also a worry that they don't have a specialist spinner in the squad.

Yeah I just realised that. :D

Oh well they think that there won't be too much in the pitch for spin.

I saw him bowl at the Gabba in the practice nets and he only hit the stumps 3 times and was bowling for a good 10 mins with a coach there with him.

Then Dave Hussey did the same thing and he couldn't stop hitting them.:D
