I wouldn't mind knowing who your source is.... but I can assure you this is categorically wrong! Highett have not requested to stay in south C. As stated in a post earlier the reason for playing South C had nothing to do with the performance of the first 11 or trying to save money on umpires as you also suggested in another post. Why would a team who made the grand final of South A (with no paid players that season either), request to play South C with basically the same line up the next season? Highett requested to stay in South A last season due to the issue with the second 11 (the second 11 lost every 2 day game outright but were expected to go up as well.....) Due to Heatherton still being in the comp until round 2 the only available position according to the league was in South C which Highett accepted. I hope this post clarifies any misconceptions that people may have and I can assure you that Highett will be playing in whatever grade the league decides to place them in this season.Well I hear Highett want to stay in South C 1 And 3 Parkdale United and Middle Park with struggle again but will anything is possible plus I'm also hearing Heatherton could be fielding upto 2 sides now gone on recruiting mission a lot of ex players coming back
It's our 2s and 3s, our 4s will be south c1. Would be better if the snr seconds comp was split into a 10 and 8 team grade in both the north and south.. Would be impossible to play everyone and if the top 4 remained you could have your season finished by November!Gee those 2 would be incredibly dissapointed - playing against 2nd XIs and missing out to Kingston Hawthorn
That would be your 3rds and 4ths in South Seconds yes? Why wouldnt they be in South C1?
I fell asleep during the 15 minute presentation by Kukri, which nobody listened to as they were checking the Ashes scores on their phones!!Anything come out of the AGM last night, fixtures?
The 18 team division with a top 4 is a disgrace, at the very least have a top 8 and just play a 2 day grand final..I fell asleep during the 15 minute presentation by Kukri, which nobody listened to as they were checking the Ashes scores on their phones!!
The 18 team comps was obviously a talking point. Apparently a 10 & 8 can't be done – so we are left with an 18 team comp. Still a final 4 which will make for some long seasons for a lot of players – particularly as the standard will differ greatly you'd think. They mentioned weighting the fixture – but that will be based on 1st XIs, rather than performances of 2nd XIs. It will be interesting. Couple of quirks – Parkdale united and Middle Park have their 1st XIs in South Seconds. Also Heatherton are listed as having 2 teams – didn’t they fold last year, or is my memory playing up??
I don’t think they are making any headway with CV – but I reckon they are reluctant to do so
They have plenty of money in the bank and are looking to keep it there!!
4 or 2 day grand final not the issue here.. Just finding a way to keep an 18 team comp relevant for more than just a handful of sides by December. A top 8 would achieve this but we only have 3 weekends to play finals so the 4 day final would have to make way just for the 18 team grade. The 4 day Grand Final is the best for Senior Div., just look at the last two. You don't seem to like anything that's done in the vtac
The new name hasn’t changed you!!!!! Still don't like people expressing an opinion that might differ from youThe 4 day Grand Final is the best for Senior Div., just look at the last two. You don't seem to like anything that's done in the vtac
