The BaggyGreens Thread

Absolute scenes at Karen Rolton Oval. South Australia win its first Sheffield Shield in 30 years.

Congrats SAussies, very well deserved. You guys may now be pleased you nabbed Jason Sangha from New South. Some first season he has had for his adopted state.

The 2025/26 summer schedule is out.

All white ball crap. Only white ball in my growing years was Packers WSC. That had class as it was well promoted with all cricket lovers embracing the Mojo produced C'mon Aussie C'mon ditty which lured punters into packing their grounds to the rafters. The first day/nite cricket was also introduced, what an atmosphere that created. Theses days the 50 over game is old hat, archaic and past its used by date.

Nah disagree, ironically it's the only trophy anyone remembers.

Agreed, and still very valuable to the ICC and individual countries with the glut of money it makes for any bilateral/triangular/quadrangular series or major global tournament.

It will be interesting to see where the format goes in the near term, given the indifference to it of late. They don't play anywhere near as many ODI's as they used to, given T20's dominance of the market. It may be something that is only played in World Cup years with matches in the lead-up to the tournament, and perhap some sporadic matches in non-World Cup years. Personally, I think it would be as shame as I still like the format and what it offers.

Hi, I'm really sorry for this off topic post but I'm still not allowed to create a new one and I don't feel like spamming 5 pointless replies would be welcome either.

I would really need a cricket specialist help. My girlfriend is a big fan of the australian cricket team and I would love to give her a special gift. I've found this cricket ball apparently signed by a famous player but the seller doesn't know who signed it.

I would be really thankful if someone could help identify the player who signed this ball, thanks a lot in advance and sorry again for the off topic.
