Sounds like the club has a bit of flare and character, if you can play cricket with a pornstar, a dude that gets in on his own cab and pays his own fare, Franky Zappa (who ever he is), and some dude that gets his lunch done by his old girl, and a dude that gets a rub down by his old man, man you would have to feel special in some shape or form. Dude I think you are just player hating..... Man don't hate the players dude hate the game.... Ohh yeah screwed up the first message that I typed, you know first, time had the cherry popped on the site....

with so much youth floating around in the new generation of young cricketers coming through the ranks,

Who are some of the best Under 21 Players at your club ?

Jamie Tate from Doutta would have to be the best young keeper in the VTCA, also Walshy from Youlden was all class from what i saw last year!!

Nathan Richardson- Yarra Club, opening bat
Trent Jones - Yarra Club, great bat with a few tons under his belt.

Champ..Could name 20 Better bats than him in the comp!
Statistically there may be others ahead-from a purist perspective, well if you've played with or against him you'd know. Lets face it-there are some shockers out there scoring runs and we all know it. No disrespect to any individuals-just the harsh reality of it. but hey.....name your 20

Mick O'keefe , thousands of District 1's runs - enough said. I played with Dan at Carlton and dont bother comparing those 2.

Purists perspective , thats what someone would say about a 1st class batsman, fair go champ.

Just because the pitch was wet doesn't entitle you to the points. Royal Park were the better side, and with your frail batting line up you probably scored about your correct total.

OEG will be challenging Chelsea for relegation this year, and there will be a few clubs quite happy to see you down on your rear ends. Its just a shame the likes of the Reid brothers, Dave Graham and co aren't there as they are the ones who deserve to be in a team relegated after the mouthful they have given young opposition players.

Strange. Can recall a game between Douttas & Keilor last year when covers blew off overnight & wicket was unplayable Day 2. Keilor protested & got the points (surprise, surprise)!!!

The VTCA demands in the off season that wickets must be playable (no excuses) or home clubs lose points.

1st instance - no acton.

What a bunch of weak, toothless a...holes!!!!

They should have said in their off season demands, that if the wicket is unplayable @ Douttas only, then they will lose thier points; not all clubs.|@

Okay Champ lets put things into perspective, we're local paddock Cricketers some of which have played district Cricket some of which may have represented their state and some of which have never played until recently. If any of us were 'exceptional' we'd be playing a higher level, this is VTCA local cricket and you can try fool yourself all you like, but at the end of the day if you're playing at this level you're crediblility as a critic is only consistent with the next local 'hack' that thinks he knows it all. Drop all the names you like Champ....you may want to throw in Bradman at some stage.
Sorry to burst your bubble.....nice being a big fish in a small pond though.

Glen Mcgrath would be a solid bat at this level mate, Pops has played a ******** load of District 1's games and if he was more sociable he more than likely would have gone further. It's not about how far he can hit the ball or how many strokes he has in his arsenal, for me it's gracefulness, timing and ability to make runs anywhere-Dan's the man but we all have our preferences and you're surely entitled to yours.

Come on Swazie, whatcha talkin' bout.... North A and the rest of the comp are full of batsmen that show gracefulness. LMAO!!!! Lets get a grip and not kid ourselves this is park cricket, many may beg to differ. No disrespect to any players, the ones that take offense are the ones that I maybe referring to. If you play the game for enjoyment and for something to do on a Saturday and kick back with some mates with common interests, fantastic, however the ones that think that the sun shines out of their asses and think that they are the best thing since sliced bread need to take a good hard look at themselves. Why you may ask??? Well Lets be realistic this comp is so far from first class, the results barely make it in the local rag, so what if you have had your mug shot in the "local rag" a couple times it doesn't by any measure make you the best cricket that the state has seen. If these players are so good why are they playing park cricket?? For the money I understand, for enjoyment and satisfaction all good, but for those that want bragging rights and want to be the big fish in a little pond have a good look at yourself and a reality check wouldn’t go astray either. Its ONLY VTCA boys it’s not Sub District, District or First Class. Enjoy the game, get paid (for those that do) do whatever but show boating has never been something that I have viewed kindly upon. I hope I haven’t upset anyone, but do hit me with thoughts or criticisms. Ohh yeah sorry about the thesis.

Re: VTCA Thread

Yeah there's an element of truth there, and people do get caught up in their own worlds.....but that's what makes it all the more interesting. If we all resigned to the fact that because we're not representing our state or country that we're hacks...It kinda defeats the purpose of playing competitively at all..........

Popov for Prime minister!

Re: VTCA Thread

We all know that not everyone is going to play state or country cricket, thats why we have park cricket. I am all for enjoying and having a good time and in between all that if you can make a run or two or snag a few wickets thats great, I have a hack at it myself but lets just keep ourselves in check and acknowledge the fact what grade of cricket we are playing. Like I said just enjoy it and be humble. Thats my two bobs worth. Hey by the way for those that are interested I had made over 3000 runs in a 3 month period in backyard cricket, couldn't play the whole 6month season as I had other commitments. Does that merit anything??? Just askin'?

Popov for PM............ HMMMMM that would be interesting. I think the guy is too honest, but can chat though, possibly to rowdy and too much personality. I dunno he can't do any worse than lil Johnny.

YOU CAN DOOOOOO IT!!!!!
