You may remember that a) I said that the citizen issue was an aside and NOT the major decision he had to make recently. b) I'd never have expected you to know this point in his biography. But it got stuck in my mind somehow since it's rare for someone to renounce a citizenship. In Germany most people concerned wish to have dual citizenship and to keep it.

Here's the solution:
The far-reaching decision he had to take not too long ago was to deny the Ukrainians those 45 Taipan choppers they desperately wanted to have despite them being grounded for reliability reasons because the Ukrainians, being in war, have a different idea of risk assessment . I was reminded of that when I read that Germany is sending six Sea King helis to Ukraine.
