My point was that it was obvious to all and sundry that Bell was not attempting to run and he believed the ball to be dead. All it takes is someone to show leadership, common sense and sportsmanship at the time, which no one did! Should people in their 20s and 30s need somone else to be their...
Interesting!!! Living in Melbourne, I have never heard a pro-Indian anti-Australian comment before!
Let me see, the Indians:
*don't appeal every second delivery (even if it pitches outside leg)
*never claim catches that actually bounced (MS Dhoni in particular)
*are never racist...
Its got a double meaning. I could barely get out of bed that morning, which added to the feeling that I'm probably too old to be playing cricket this coming season. The body is not looking forward to pre-season.
Too Old, I agree that some players who leave Premier Cricket don't go back to their local club due to easy money elsewhere.
Training in the Premier Cricket environment is at a much more professional level. I hate to say it, but training with local clubs has the disadvantage of the training with...
Too Old, I think there are too many people on here weighed down by the chips on their shoulders and maybe you are right - they should do it on their own thread. Not the first time I've agreed with you. Maybe I should change my moniker to 'Too Old Body Broke 2' ;)

A very astute series of comments! I have never heard of a player coming back the same or worse after being in the Premier Cricket environment. Let them go, let them grow and reap the rewards down the track.
The VTCA must be supplying Platypus with a heap of business. Surely being a major customer the VTCA would be able get a better deal/product. Try and name 1 club that doesn't expect it!
I agree with you 100%. With the amount of soccer exposed immigrants coming to this country it is only a matter of time before we lose a great many cricket grounds.
That could be a useful tool for some clubs. Pre-season does not start for another week and a half. The season is a further 2 months away. I'm sure by that time we'd have seen the system put through it's paces.
Good points Jika Jika. As long as during the appeal discretion can be shown by the VTCA. I wouldn't expect Russell to rate each player, but maybe the ones that require VTCA discretion? I've heard that he is full of common sense. I was more thinking of clubs possessing 1st XIs in the lower grades...
