Who's your money on?

Re: Indian Premier League

All I can say is Punjab (or Mohali) for the win. I hope that either James Hopes, Luke Pomersbach or Shaun Marsh (I think you missed that one AB) get a game

Re: Indian Premier League

Added him and Noffke to the list.

My pick is Kolkata Knight Riders because they have a very strong team and its being led by my favourite player.

Re: Indian Premier League

It looks like it'll be very close and most of the teams look class. I've gone for Deccan Chargers as a punt - with Afridi, Gilchrist and Symonds in the same team someone has to fire!!

Re: Indian Premier League Chat

Cricinfo says that it wont be covering the IPL event. The news channels are protesting too. This cannot be good for IPL but they are blinded by money.

Re: Indian Premier League

Also you forgot about Luke Ronchi for the Mumbai Indians :D

Cricinfo does a review on all the IPL teams. Worth a read. I can't wait for it to start today (technically tomorrow, but thats just details) I'm definitely staying up late to watch the first match

Re: Indian Premier League

I'm supporting Kings XI Punjab... they've got Brett Lee, Jayawardene, Sangakkara,
Pathan & Sarwan... Clearly they've got some fire power in the team

Re: Indian Premier League

The team selection will be interesting because only four overseas players can play but that can be advantage because they can rotate players.

When does the match actually start? Sony says it starts on 6:30 but I dont want to watch their boring pre game show.

DONT even by mistake watch the stupid pre game show on SET MAX. They used to have a 3 hour pre game show during the world cup. Its the biggest piece of crap. Once you watch you will be scarred for life. The actual match starts at 8:00 PM but the toss will be at 7:30 and I read that its going to be spectacular so I wont miss it.

Re: Indian Premier League

The two stars will walk out for the toss in a stadium plunged in darkness.

Spotlights will trail Dravid, skipper of the the Bangalore Royal Challengers, and Ganguly, who leads the Kolkata Knight Riders, as they make their way to the middle.

Finally the floodlights will come on and the six-week tournament will begin

All sounds very exciting, especially just for the coin toss!

I think it wont be as bad this time. They seem to have learnt from their mistakes and have hired a much better panel of experts.

Is it being televised on Sky?
I think its going to be on Setanta.

Re: Indian Premier League

Yeah, Ajay Jadeja is a much better host than anyone they have had until now. He is one of the few guys that actually talk some sense. Ramiz Raja is quite good too but I wish they had chosen someone other than Laxman Shivaramakrishnan. It seems like they have a lot of entertainment planned before the game starts. Vijay Mallya has hand picked the cheer leaders who have been flown here from Washington.

Re: Indian Premier League

Haha I think they were booing Pawar. Sachin got the loudest cheer from the crowd. The entertainment has been fantastic till now. I hope the cricket is as great too.
They were showing the promos of all the teams. Which one did you like best?
