Re: Heat policy?
The Shepparton comp was called off Jnrs and seniors. It got up to 43 degrees.
Any other comps get called off?
I noticed a veterans game between Shepp and Albury still went ahead on Sunday in 41 degrees, this seeed odd to me surely if veterans can play in 41 degrees...
Re: Heat policy?
I dont think you can put a number on it 35 degrees in Northern Victoria is different to 35 degrees in Darwin.
I think play should go ahead unless the temp is abnormally high for the region you are in. Say for example historical records indicate that the highest temp in...
Re: Heat policy?
I just reckon it can be managed, we have played in similar conditions before. Every season we have at least 1 or 2 days over 40.
It is just a case of having more drinks breaks, a longer afternoon tea and captains and players being smart in regards to bowling changes...
Heat policy?
Whats everyones thoughts on a heat policy?
Up my way, Shepparton, it is supposed to be 43 degrees tomorrow and from what I can tell it will just as hot if not hotter everywhere else.
There are several clubs pushing to get all games cancelled due to the heat. I dont agree...
Re: Shepparton Cricket Association
Well its certainly hot, 43 predicted for tomorrow.
The big question is will we play. I understand a couple of Shepp clubs are pushing to call it off.
I can understand the reasoning behind it but I just wonder where this leaves us. If from now on we...
Re: Shepparton Cricket Association
Yep the rain has greened up the outfield nicely, its a pity that the council wouldnt/couldnt water our grounds up until a couple of weeks ago. Our B grade guys nearly had a stroke when they played at Morropna and saw how green your grounds were when ours...
Re: Shepparton Cricket Association
Sounds like a reasonable policy, just surprised me to see Gringo in B Grade after he had such a good season last year, from memory he had the most wickets or best average for the league.
yep I am affiliated with a club, Tatura
Re: Shepparton Cricket Association
No surprises from the weekends round of A Grade scores.
I see Gringo has played the last two games in B Grade whats going on there Cat?
Re: Shepparton Cricket Association
I think you are a bit quick off the mark. For starters Students arent in the four as yet and have only won 1 game!
Wait and see for a few more rounds yet, Numurkah and SYC are the only 2 clubs that I would be willing to write off as far as the top 4...
Re: Shepparton Cricket Association
Yes that is a big loss for Katandra but Karra are a genuine contender, I think Katandra will bounce back.
Mooroopna did have a big win but it is only their 1st win, as you say it was only SSYC and their B Grade also lost outright.
Old Students only...
Re: Shepparton Cricket Association
No I think Central Park/St Brendans are still the team to beat. Karra would be the main challenger at this stage. I tipped them at the start of last season to go close, this was based on their semi final finish the year before plus the inclusion of kane...
Re: Shepparton Cricket Association
Tats wickets are pretty good. With an attack of McCallum and Stevens, I would think they would be making them as hard and as fast as possible.
