Cramp - a rule change needed?

What do people think about players getting a runner when they have cramp? As this cricket blog points out it's a particular problem in the 50 over, but as they stand the rules don't seem to allow it (although it often happens). Should the rules be changed to explicitly state that anyone with...

No wonder Stuart Broad always looks so smug...

Have you seen his lass? (Number four on this Ashes cricket blog). The lucky devil.

    The Haider affair

Intersting Pakistan cricket blog from the BBC about the Haider affair. Didn't realise he'd just been fined for breaking curfew, but that doesn't seem to have anything to do with it. All very fishy.

So how will the Aussies get on with George Bush captaining them...

Ha ha ha. Can't beleive I've never noticed the resemblence before, but if you check out this Ashes cricket blog there's something there. Father and son, maybe? ;)

How long should England put up with KP?

A few years ago, no one would have been asking this, but as this Ashes tips blog points out Kevin Pitersen is now a bit of a liability off the field. Should be be dropped if he has a bad Ashes series? I'd say yes...

    Ntini ends international career

The BBC has revealed Makhaya Ntini has decided to end his career for South Africa. Great bowler and it looks like he's going to get a great send off. Hope he ends up in County cricket for a season or two.

    Worst lookalikes ever?

So then, what do you reckon of this lot of lookalikes? Most of them aren't even "lookabitsimilars". I imagine it's supposed to be funny, but if it is it fails miserably. Anyone know any decent cricket lookalikes?

Why can't they sort out the County game?

It looks as if inertia has gripped the domestic game and we'll be stuck with the same stupid set up we had this season. Why can't they sort it out? It basically seems to be that a few counties make shed loads of money from the new long T20 and have blocked it being cut back to a more sensible...

    Warne backs Ponting

Bit of a storm in a teacup about Warne's Twitter comments on Ponting, and the Aussie captain is clearly big enough to take some constructive criticism. Warney is spot on with his comments in this BBC news story. Anyone care to disagree?

    Aussies talking up Pietersen...

The Ashes mindgames seem to have started. In this BBC article, John Buchanan goes on about how KP could be a problem for England. I think the biggest worry they have is over his form, not his attitude. Bad move from Buchanan, it'll just get KP fired up.

Resting players - does it work?

Just found out from this ashes cricket odds blog that the Aussie are resting three key players from the ODIs against India. As it points out, they're ducking three days' work in a period of just over a week, so does it make much difference? I note when England players were left out over the...

    The best sledges.... ever?

Anyone who likes a good sledge should check out this Ashes tips blog. It's got 20 of the best. In a way, it's a shame the stump mic has taken this out the game. Some of them are pretty witty.

Have the Aussies lost that winning feeling?

Have the Aussies lost that winning feeling? According to this Ashes cricket betting blog they have. If you ask me, they're not the team they were just a few years ago, but Australia at home is still a massive ask. Hope the England players aren't buying into all this talk. Don't want to...

Swann not player of the year...

Swann not player of the year... Well, the ICC have decided not to make Swanny the player of the year (full story here). To be honest, it's hard to see how it could have been anyone but Tendulkar given the season he's had though.
