1st ODI: Bangladesh v India

This has turned out to be an interesting series to start out with right after the World Cup. And it's here already! The first match starts in about 7 hours.

Bad news for India, their new guy, Manoj Tiwari, has already been ruled out of the ODI's due to injury.

Worse news for Bangladesh! Mashrafe Mortaza, the top ODI wicket-taker in the world last year, is out due to back problems.

Looks like Nafees might be left out of the squad too.
Not a good idea. They have to get him back in form.

Shahadat Hossain should replace Mortaza for tonight's match.

Let's the Indians win the first one, since that's where they'll be looking to regain their pride, and then bring Mortaza back for the second one and try to win that.

Apparently lots of rain at Mirpur right now, so this probably won't start in half an hour as scheduled.

Bangladesh won the toss and will bat.
The match should start in about 15 minutes.

Thanks to the slight rain delay, it's now a 49 over match.

Zaheer Khan starts it off with a maiden over against Omar.


The announcers said it's now a 46 over match, the screen says it's 47.
Cricinfo says 47 too.

Well, after a slow start, Tamim and Omar have really come alive.

A very good start for Bangladesh, but it feel like a one man show out there, as Tamim has 32 and Omar only has 7 so far.

Time constraints, lighting issues and other problems.

At least we have a game that's close to my time zone!!

Anyway, it's a 47-over game now with Bangladesh doing well at 2/99 in the 24th over.

Javed Omar is not out on 37 with Saquibul Hasan with him undefeated on 8.

The Indian attack is starting to stem the run flow a bit in the last few overs, Omar and Hasan are having trouble keep the runs ticking over.

Seems we are set up for a good match here.

Javed Omar is still batting slow, but at least he's still out there.

This is turning into a good partnership.

Sreesanth is off injured for India.
Not sure if he'll return or not.
At first it looked like cramps from all the heat, but then it appeared to be an actual injury.

Just about every single person in the crowd is fanning themselves, the heat is really a burden today. Both Omar and Sakib looked really exhausted out there.

Javed Omar out for 80

He was going for a big boundary, hit it very high, but it surprisingly dropped down in front of the fielder. So Omar ambled back for a second run, but he was going to slow and got run out on a direct hit from pretty deep.
