2nd ODI: England vs India at Bristol

We head into the second game of this series much the same as how the test series started. England dominated in the first game but unlike the test series they were able to come up with a win.

This encounter should be able to gauge on how both teams are going. England were very good in the first match but as the test series discovered, that performance showed more than what England actually were. It will be interesting to see if India can recover here however, a fair portion of the side missed training with the flu and general soreness. Sachin Tendulkar is one of those players with the others being Zaheer Khan, Ajit Agarkar, RP Singh and Yuvraj Singh. Tendulkar loves this ground and his last two innings have resulted in 100's which have converted to 300+ totals for the Indians. They will be looking to do much the same thing today.

Still no Ryan Sidebottom for England who is expected to miss the next couple of games with injury therefore Stuart Broad keeps his place. The return of Andrew Flintoff in game one provided a much needed boost for the home side who needed to start well after a poor test series. England are expected to go into the match unchanged.

India still have a few choices to make before picking their eleven. With a 300+ pitch expected and the fact that the ground is quite small, two spinners may be a dangerous option. The inner circle gets closer to the boundary line at the pavilion end, the slower bowlers may go for a few runs here.

Expect a good match up here, India will be keen to get on the board and level the series with England wanting to get a mini-break on the Indians with five matches left after this game.

from your side panesar is out and tremlett is in and gambhir is out and powar is in

Toss: India who elected to bat

Re: 2nd ODI: England vs India at Bristol

India are looking real ominous here. They've raced to 0/100 after 17 overs. Chris Tremlett just had 17 runs smacked off his over by Ganguly and Tendulkar with the little master already having notched up a 50.

Tendulkar is on 52 with Ganguly on 37.

England have conceded 51 runs from their last 5 overs.

Re: 2nd ODI: England vs India at Bristol

Flintoff strikes, Ganguly goes for it and strikes to belt the ball over covers but he balloons the ball to point where Paul Collingwood takes an easy catch.

1/113 now in the 20th over.

Re: 2nd ODI: England vs India at Bristol

1/167 after 28 overs. Yuvraj Singh, who has been promoted has just carted Dmitri Mascarenhas from 12 runs, clubbing three 4's.

Yuvraj moves to 18 with Tendulkar on 92.

India going along nicely but this is a short ground and the boundaries are quite small. Will they be able to get enough?

Re: 2nd ODI: England vs India at Bristol

Re: 2nd ODI: England vs India at Bristol

Mascarenhas out on 52, an excellent and very fast half-century. 39 balls for 52 runs.

England 300 for 8 with 1 over remaining.

30 runs required off of last over.

Re: 2nd ODI: England vs India at Bristol

Chris Broad shows great intent!!!!

Hits SIX, FOUR and then SIX off of Patel.

14 runs required off of 2 balls. Oh no!!!!

And then FOUR again!!!

10 runs required off of 1 ball.

Nothing doing.

Match over. England 320 for 8 at the end.

Great job for India leveling the series!!! @| However, I must congratulate England for batting very well towards the end. That's the way cricket should be played, with positive intentions.
