Rd 1:

Toorak-Prahran 3/153 dec. (18 overs)(T. Beaumont 52no) def. Monash Gryphons 44 (P. Myers 3/1)

After one round, the APS boys from 03/04 have already been promoted to One Day Section - Div 1 of the SDCCL.

Rd 2 sees them pitted against the reigning back-to-back premiers, Emmanuel South Oakleigh.

Should be a walkover...

I believe Mentone has exactly the same sort of a side eg a lot of young blokes out on the tear who are bloody good cricket players who just want to play together as mates.

should be an interesting season.

How can a side that defeats their opponents by 30+ runs have a "Result in Dispute"?

To cut a long story short, the back-to-back reigning Premiers, ESO, were bitter at the fact that a bunch of 20 year-old's who'd been drinking all afternoon destroyed them at their own game.

What next?
ESO complain to the league and the match is reviewed due to scorebook discrepencies.

= No result and neither team receives any points.

Shaping up to be a fierce rivalry. Perhaps TPCC will play properly when the clubs meet again - i.e. not drink and actually bowl and field like they care.

Any thoughts??
