Big rumours that Epping are the team to beat this year with some great pick ups
I hope you don’t consider Huss Hanif a ‘great’ pick up
Unless they've spent up big and brought in 2 or 3 proven district cricketets, I dont think so.
Riverside the team to beat again
2 or 3 proven district cricketers????? wtf...where do you get them? your mob won without that didnt they? if they proven then they wouldnt play in this comp, if they come back it means they didnt make it
Returning to local cricket is not an indicator of whether they made it at a higher level or not, I'm sure there's plenty of reasons people return to local level other than performance
Mont and their coach parted ways.
Eh, the only coach a club needs is one to ride to the game in.
How come? Would have thought he's done a pretty good job since taking over. MS flag and finals first year in the top flight.
Bit of dispute I’ve heard.
You are probably the same person that complains that the coach is the reason you're a spud....
That type of response would typically come from blokes that are always whinging that they should be playing higher grades and have zero ability.
Pulling on the whites this year snowy?
If I don't think coaches are useful, why would I attach blame to them for my lack of skill? I know, logic is hard, please try again.
Trapdaw is one of the most widely respected people in the whole comp, across many clubs and grades. That's not even mentioning his amazing coaching record. For him to part ways from Mont says a fair bit about them as a club.
Make a change from the horizontal stripes.
Trap is a very good man manager, as a technical coach i'm not certain that he is as good as what people perceive.
Each club is different in terms of what they want from a coach, the old saying of "you can't polish a turd" is certainly one that I believe in, clubs that expect a coach to wave a magic wand and turn average park cricketers into star A grade performers have rocks in their head.
Tubby Taylor to Riverside.
Just read this in Leader. Surely it’s a piss take? He’s 53 and a few kilos heavier than his Tubby days.
I did double check the date at reading that, but a google search did turn up the article.
