Pakistan players Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir have all been found guilty of match fixing after deliberately bowling no-balls in a test match against England last year. Butt and Asif were found guilty by a jury while Amir pleaded guilty to the charge at a pre-trial hearing. All three players faced charges of conspiracy to cheat, and conspiracy to obtain and accept corrupt payments, following the Lord's Test during which they allegedly conspired with agent Mazhar Majeed and other people unknown to bowl pre-planned no-balls.
The trio were previously suspended by the ICC for a minimum of five years each and will be sentenced today.

It's about time someone disciplined Pakistan's out-of-line players once and for all. Many have done so in the past only to go back on their word time and time again. Hopefully this will stand the test of time and these three are rubbed out of the game for good. Cricket in general needs to take a stand and stamp out cheating and match fixing for good as this does the game no harm in a period of uncertainty at the moment.
