DLF Cup Match 3: Australia v India

Here's the big one all the fans have been waiting for. We saw a lot more fans at the India/West Indies Match #2 than we did at the West Indies/Australia Match #1, but I have a feeling this will fill the stands in Kuala Lumpur. Hopefully at least. If India and Australia can't do it, no one can. (And while television revenue is obviously a big monetary factor in a series like this, I'm sure the BCCI was hoping to sell a bunch of tickets to the fans in Malaysia too.)

Here's the standings so far:

Code:
Match 2 of 6 P W L NR T BP Points NRR For Against
Australia 1 1 - - - 1 5 +1.560 279 / 50 201 / 50
West Indies 2 1 1 - - 1 5 -0.700 342 / 70 391 / 70
India 1 - 1 - - - 0 -1.450 112 / 20 141 / 20

Re: DLF Cup Match 3: Australia v India

Damn it. Seriously why play there at this time of the year? Pretty silly.

Re: DLF Cup Match 3: Australia v India

Australia won the toss and will bat.

Australia - PA Jaques, MJ Cosgrove, RT Ponting, DR Martyn, MJ Clarke, SR Watson, BJ Haddin, GB Hogg, MG Johnson, SR Clark, GD McGrath

India team - R Dravid, SR Tendulkar, IK Pathan, V Sehwag, MS Dhoni, Yuvraj Singh, SK Raina, AB Agarkar, Harbhajan Singh, MM Patel, RP Singh

Some interesting line-ups here. Martyn, Hogg, and Clark in for the Aussies, Yuvraj in for the Indians. Looks like Jaques and Cosgrove will open. Interesting.

Shockingly, it looks like they're going to start right on schedule. Maybe we'll get lucky and get a full match in again today.

Nope, it was Jaques and Watson.

Nice looking day and nice sounding crowd.

Re: DLF Cup Match 3: Australia v India

Good News: I just happened to check what was on the "county cricket" feed on WillowTV and noticed they are showing this match (without having to pay extra for it).

Bad News: I will stay up all night watching it and likely sleep through the Notre Dame-Michigan game in the afternoon.

Solid start from the Aussies here, batting at better than 6 runs per over and without losing any wickets.

Re: DLF Cup Match 3: Australia v India

72-1 after 12, still right at 6 per over

Re: DLF Cup Match 3: Australia v India

18.1 Singh to Martyn, OUT, caught! But that so nearly went down, Martyn edges it as though he was giving slip practice and Dravid fumbles the easiest of chances not once but twice. Howvere, Dhoni was alert enough to pouch it off the rebound
