Re: DVCA Money Shield 09/10

Any practice matches lined up for the next couple of weekends? Either within the DV or outside?

Word is Yarrambat had a couple of games lined up against a NMCA team this weekend but pulled out. Struggling to get 12 blokes to training let alone a game.

Re: DVCA Money Shield 09/10

Surely Simon Bray would not leave Yarrambat???
Future leader at the club one would think, could not let him go.

Franks; still the best side now with renewed desire

which team is going win wooden spoon\

Whittlesea; going to be years before they see finals action

which team is going to be the most improved?

College; stiff to miss out last year, are certain top 2 when in form

what players to watch?

The Big Cheese should be far too strong for Money Shield, 600 + with ease

- Question marks over Yarrambat, Morang, Thomastown, Camrea; should get a clearer picture in a weeks time.

Re: DVCA Money Shield 09/10

Should be a very interesting year ahead. I cant pick a flag Favorite but I
have a top 6.
Camrea
Mont
Lower
College
St Francis
and my ruffy to finish in the top 6 Whittlesea.
Also you have Morang and Yarrambat also having a good season last year.
Not much said about Greensborough so far you would think they will be a
strong side and around the mix come finals time.
Fighting it out for the spoon will be Bundoora United, Mill Park and Hurstbridge.
I think the big improver this season will be Whittlesea and Mont. With so many 1
day games it might bring a few of the lower sides back into the mix. But 1 thing for
sure we should be in for a good season of cricket with 2 new teams joining the comp
and some new faces cant wait to see the outcome. Good luck to all and let the games begin.

I think Lower Plenty or the college for the flag, will be vey close up the top his year

which team is going win wooden spoon

I think Panton Hill

which team is going to be the most improved?

i feel mont will be the big improvers have recruited well from all reports

what players to watch?

Greg Duggin has been making runs in there practise matches and also if the rumour is true that Matt Ross is captain coach of bund utd he will be a player to watch

6 new players for the Morangutangs, -out with the old, in with the young. Good luck boys.

And yes, we'll just be trying to avoid the wooden spoon again.

One Shot can fill us in when he comes online. From what he told me the game was called off at 6.30 by the umpire. Franks needed 2 wickets in 2 overs and Mont need 30 runs.

I can fill you guys in Wizz...Not trying to lay the blame on anyone either just telling the facts. Mont were 30 minutes over there over rate and we didnt get back onto the ground until 4.10pm. Then later on we realised that the game had to finish at 6.30pm and at 6pm it was getting very dark. So we got to 6.30pm with Mont needing 30 runs and we needed 2 wickets with 1 over to spare. Game got called off. Draw. 3 Points is better than 0 but of course starting the year off with a win would've been much better.

But i think at that stage of the year Round 1 shouldve started at 12 or 12.30. Games that are close and high scoring are always going to go over time and i hear a few other games went close to being called off aswell!

But no use dwelling on it Round 1 is gone and now for Round 2 hopefully with a win.

What a debacle. The points should be given to St Francis. Set a precedent on this and loopholes appear everywhere. Go slow mode will be a new game within a game.
