Re: DVCA Money Shield

Time for Meredith, Holzer and Stewart to do something.

Just for the record DO, Stewies last 5 innings prior to the semi produced 278 runs @ 139.

Not really, just that the Franks players and supporters thought they had it won throughout our innings, not to mention with 9 overs left when we needed 100ish.
That's what you get for being complacent.

Nothing better than all the NEW fans bursting onto the ground after a 6 to seal the game.

Barclay bound?

GO WANDERERS

You are a clown cocko. I have no allegiance to either team but your anti fist pumping is a sure sign of being touched inappropriately at some stage. Maybe in the rooms at some stage whilst discussing your 3/78 you got in the 3rds one week it may have happened. At least you wont have to worry about fist pumping if you go up to Barclay because that's the least of your problems.

Well Well Well - the GF sides are decided.

St Francis: The Lion King is now the Lion Cub. Brett Brett Brett - what happened mate? We'd just booked a meeting with the local council to find a Barclay Ground for you... No excuses mate, your team was like the teenage boy on his first attempt. Peaked too quickly, finished too soon.

NEW - Sacking the coach is the new motivator? Well done to the boys with no home ground. A trip to downtown Barclay after this week? Selection should be a very nasty affair - Stacey in, Smith out (one innings does not make a grand finalist). Probably Temple in for nutty Groves & J Mann for B Monger. All the Mann's in!!

Yarrambat - Big Ronny vs North Eltham this weekend. Will need more than him to survive. Time for Meredith, Holzer and Stewart to do something. Could go either way... make sure you bring your supporters with you. They may be needed for the aftermatch commiserations.

South Orangs - Who would have thought you would make it this far? A bunch of bowlers who cannot bat. Kumar did well as did Crane (where did he come from?). You have not disgraced. My Tip: South Morang the team to watch next year. [Late Mail, just in as I've typed this... Morang coach seen in Westfield coffee shop yesterday with local 'Barclay Blues' Committee man... what's all that about??]

The DO's prediction for the GF: If NEW go with the suggested selections, they will win, NEW on Day #3. Leave Smith & Groves in? - see you here next year.

And finally... before the GF special edition.....

Lower Plenty - Money's too tight to mention; we're talking about Money Money, we're talking about Money Money, we're talking about Money Money, Money Money MONEY! Goodbye to Barclay, farewell to all your $'s. Welcome to the real stuff!

The Daily Observer ... today's news today

That comment about the Franc's is absolute gold.

As for your NEW selection predictions, my thoughts are Stacey in, B. Monger out. As for Smith and Groves they'll stick with them. Temple is just a bit too long in the tooth to offer anything more than Groves (although I reckon the old fella would do just as well). As for a selection darkhorse, I'll go with the veteran Harris.

As for the match itself I'm expecting a hard fought game. The match will be decided on 1st innings late on day 2, with the trailing side pushing the match deep into the third day attempting the reverse outright. However, neither team has the attack to bowl the other side out quickly enough to reverse the 1st innings result. My prediction NEW by 30-40 runs on 1st innings. Go the wanderers!

Great game over the weekend, we thought 323 would have been enough, but unfortunately wasn't. Congratutaions to Al and Richard in getting their team to the grand final. regardless of the result St francis had a great year making the finals for the first time in money shield in their short 11 year histroy. we will be better next year for the experience that we have gained this season.

Since when is 11 years short??? Stop making excuses, you just choked! Face reality.....better luck next year Francs ha ha.
Just look at Lalor Stars and Mernda, both in the Barclay final after recently coming up from Money. If they can make the grade in only a few short years, then so can anyone.

Gotta love those gracious winners hey! Ur a fool. At no stage did we think that we had the game won. We set ourselves to play from 12pm-6pm regardless of the result we knew we had to fight it out. We battled hard and simply werent good enough on the day, but to say that the players thought we had it won it is a stupid comment.

On that ground we know how easy it is to score quick runs and we didnt get complacent just didnt execute the right things at the crucial time. We'll be better for the experience but thats one thing all year that we can hold our heads up high for we never got complacent, we never got cocky we worked hard every training session and every game because we knew we had to be at our best to win games of cricket, we didnt expect it to be an easy ride!

Yeah winners are grinners but at least when we win games we are gracious about it, cant say much about alot of your guys unfortunately!

How can you drop Groves? Taken 14 wickets from 6 games and is the heart of the Wanderer.
Smith is the permanent number 3 so your a muppet if your thinking that.

As much as we'd love the 4 Manns in the one side I highly doubt that will happen.

UP THE WANDERER

Eithan groves will not be dropped from the side and stacey will notcome in.watching the boys train last night the side will stay the same and go with what got the ones there in the first place.should be a good game on the weekend if we NE take the catches they should win cos we all no what happens when you drop big ronnie, he gets very upset!and is holzer finally going to pull that weight of his for the first time since becomming a bat?

Re: DVCA Money Shield

Since when did fist pumping and being excited at getting a crucial wicket become cocky??

No point argueing, some blokes just havent got a clue.

Good luck to the Bats and North Eltham both deserve to be there after a good year.

Think logically Ryan. I understand you may have done this once or twice in your life.

Temple gives you maturity, experience and is a team player. Groves is a individual, and therefore, unreliable.

Smith is still celebrating his erly season runs against a second-rate side. Like Temple, Stacey (who you didn't talk about), gives you experience, maturity and believes in the NEW team - Smith is all about Smith.

B Monger is the uncertainty here - do you go with him or put Jarrod in for his fighting spirit?

Thursday night should read:

IN - Temple, Stacey, J Mann
OUT - Smith, Groves, B Monger, Chini's opinion.

Re: DVCA Money Shield

A.Stacey although has had a good year in the two's/three's is a player who will always be a good two's player but isnt quite up to playing ones.hes a fringe player and has never made a run in A grade when he's been given the opportunity. Now as for old man temple, these days he's seen drinking melbourne bitters outside the eltham bowls club with his best mate "jose", his best cricket is past him and is now known to even bowl the odd double bouncer, his body creaks when he walks and he makes all the young kids uneasy, i dont no but i think the side will stay un changed.

Every word out of your mouth is jargon "observer".
Especially the stuff about Smith. He would give up a lot just for the wanderer cause. SMITH SMITH SMITH

You'd want to be on our selection committee if you believe these changes should/are actually going to occur.

Craig is a great mate of mine, and he is also a great fit at The Bat, so you might just wanna check your facts before you start slagging off mate !
