Definately not true.Bramich is.Offered him decent amount too.Too young to be offered decent money.Should be playing for the love of it at that age.No I was not paid until mid 20's when I got $100 a game and now it costs me $150 a week to play!
If you want it take it and good luck to the boy.

I agree too young and he took 20 od wickets in B Grade and struggled a bit so couldnt be worth that much. But at that age i would be worried about working on my game and getting better rather than the dollar.

But everyone's different!

Totally agree. I played against Bramich in the comp game last year and personally wouldnt think he was worth coin. He's quick-ish not express by any means. And just rolls them down no thought to it (like most blokes that age). But my judgement is only based on 1 game. Lower obviously see a long term work in progress that would benefit them.

They wouldn't have had to if your club didn't deliver 3 big brown paper bags full of crispy $50 bills to Salvatores home:D

Unfortunately when players leave - for whatever reason - they need to be replaced, especially if you lose a quality bowler like Salvatore.

I wouldn't know the young bloke if he stood up in my porridge but regardless of the monetary payments i think they've done the right thing in attracting a guy who hopefully for them turns out to be a 10yr player.

Not all clubs are in a position of attracting quality players for nothing.....

He is only young with obvious talent. The comp is not over endowed with quickish bowlers. Will definately improve in a better standard to what he has been playing. The quicker he is locked in to a club the better I would have thought.I know a couple of clubs have given him an offer.

Re: DVCA: Player movements and rumours

Just wondering if Camrea do get in, is there a proposal on how the comp will be structured or will that be worked out in due course.

If Money Shield goes to 14 teams will everyone play each other once?

In Barclay Shield , with two one day games we play 20 days of cricket consisting of 2 x 1 day games and 9 x 2 day games

if money sheild were to play each other once, the comp would have to play at least 21 days and if the did this it would constitute 5 x one day games & 8 x two day games.

Either that or play 11 two dayers & 2 one dayers and play 4 more days of cricket than everyone else.

If i was voting i'd want to know the exact proposal cos it could have a huge bearing on the season that lays ahead.

That's a good point - in order to play 20 weeks of cricket it would have to be 7 x 2 day games and 6 x 1 day games. I think that's too many 1 day games and could possibly disadvantage teams with good batting depth. With that many points at stake you'd really want to start looking at a specialist 1 day line up for those games wouldn't you? Is that doable?

No idea.I wouldnt touch Barclay.Must be something working if outside clubs want to immigrate over. The only thing I would like would be 3 x 1 dayers like the old days. The extra one to be round 8.Straight after xmas where we start way to early and most clubs suffer from this.Push it back an extra week to the 16/01/10.
That makes it 19 days before finals so I would have Money playing each other once in 8 x 2 dayers and 5 x 1 dayers. Two of them one dayers will have to be backed up from a one dayer on the Saturday= 21 days.
This will only be for a year or 2 as they are obviosly heading towards 3 divisions.
There is the next question. What will they name the 3rd division?
Dicky Norman Shield,Atlas Cup,Fox Shield? It would be nice to name it after someone from the near past.My selection would be based on the best player the comp has ever seen.Barnett Shield-approx 1000 A grade wickets and probably 6000 runs.

There is no over limit in one dayers in DVCA yet.The teams would nearly stay the same. The best teams will still win most of the time.If there are points to be won play whatever team you want.

like the idea of the "FOX" shield, very worthy of such an accolade. if we do got to 3 divisions which i think we will sooner rather than later, why not a Terry Keays Shield - the Division could consist of - RIVERSIDE, BUNDOORA, SOUTH MORANG, WHITTLESEA, DIAMOND CREEK, LALOR STARS & ROSEBANK:D

Have i missed anyone?

That was a long time ago know and i'm sure he'd be happy with decision in the long run.
Next step is President of the D.V.C.A..........

Well if they are all YES men perhaps they should turn it around and a__ehole the Taipans application. Got to start abiding by the constitution. If you were talking fines, etc. they'd ram the laws down your thoat. It seems however that when it suits them they bend any rule top suit. Will reiterate that the decision to allow the Borough admittance through is just another example. BTW nothing against them coming into the comp but surely should have been told to apply in accordance with the connie. Taipans are however another issue.

It's just the vibe of the thing...;)

Yeah maybe?Still got some unfinished business b4 that though.Something like a league President I reckon you do it to make a difference not just for the title.Getting around to clubs is imperative ,being a bit more transparent and listening to all the feedback from the clubs whether viable or not.I reckon I could drink more piss and still give a better speech than tool also. The current Exec seem to be going ok though.

Re: DVCA: Player movements and rumours

i think they will get in, if there wasnt a bye created by Grensborough i don't the would have. interesting times ahead for the DVCA.

maybe a restructure in the wings for next season.

will be an interesting season in Money with the three finalists from last year, college, grennsborough, Camrea (possibly), Mont, Whittleasea picking up some players, will be a strong comp, you will need to earn every win i think.
