As well as playing cricket I surf in the summer when I can and it's pretty much recognised that when you get older, you can't compete on the same terms as younger blokes when paddling for a wave. They have better explosive energy at the point where a massive amount of energy and effort is required to get them onto the face of the wave in front of anyone else.
Currently I'm re-configuring my bowling action and have been videoing it and one of the issues that I've identified is the fact that I seem to lack any real 'explosive energy' as I approach and move through the crease. At 55 years old is this a lost cause, or should I be able to improve this aspect of my bowling action?
