Few Shots In My Backyard Net (video)

Hi Liam and welcome!

Good posture, nice back, nice balance, lovely weight transfer and distribution [you and the bat]... all round, nice to watch!

Great to hear that you are always wanting to improve but are you happy with your performance at the moment?

Out of curiosity, do you play any other sport?

Hey Liz,

Thanks for the feedback, I'm happy with how I'm hitting them at the moment...I missed this season due to health issues but I've been training hard.

I used to play Aussie rules and football but I'm just focusing on cricket from now on

I used to play Aussie rules...

Ah! that explains the 'x-factor' in your mechanics; it has helped you a lot. I hope you will stay and keep us informed of your progress. Really sorry to hear that you have missed a season but the work you have put in will prove to be well worth it!

'x-factor'? Aha how do you mean?

I'm going to be training really hard this winter so hopefully I play first grade next season.
Also, I'm actually more of a bowler so the fact that you think highly of my batting is very humbling and reassuring to me, thanks :)

As a kinesiologist I don't look at the same things as a cricket coach would when I analyse a video. I am more interested in a player's 'idiosyncracies' and how they manage them. Most biomechanists look for joint angles first but as I specialise in soft tissue, I look at the muscles and how they 'behave'... you looked like a rugby player, which is why I asked. although half expected you to come back and say you work out in a gym!

If you are as consistent in the middle as you are in the nets, you will do very well.

I mainly work with pace bowlers so if you bowl pace, I would love to see a video!

Haha I'm far too small to be a rugby player! And I have actually been doing gym work lately aha.

Aw cool, I'll definitely get a video for you, see what you think :)
