Ford Ranger Cup - New South Wales vs South Australia at SCG

Last chance saloon for both these sides who must win to keep their small chances at playing in the final alive. New South Wales have 11 points from seven games and sit fifth on the ladder and have spent most of the season blooding a lot of youngsters. South Australia continue to play poorly and are last on the table, with just eight points from six games. Both the Blues and the Redbacks would have to win every game for the rest of the season to have a chance of making the final so this really is a crunch game for both teams.

Not many changes to either side for this game with no players being omitted from the team's previous matches. Mark Cameron comes into the New South Wales squad whilst speedster Shaun Tait joins the South Australia XII.

This should be a decent game, both teams need to win to stay alive so we should see some entertaining cricket.

New South Wales XII: Phil Hughes, Dan Warner, Ed Cowan, *Dominic Thornely, Moises Henriques, Steven Smith, +Peter Nevill, Nathan Hauritz, Aaron Bird, Nathan Bracken, Doug Bollinger, Mark Cameron (12th to be named)

South Australia XII: Tom Cooper, Michael Klinger, Younis Khan, Callum Ferguson ,Daniel Christian, Aaron O'Brien, *+Graham Manou, Matthew Weeks, Mark Cleary, Dan Cullen, Shaun Tait, Jake Haberfield (12th to be named)

Weather:

Fine, Mostly Sunny, 26.

Game starts at 2:15pm local time (3:15am GMT).

Re: Ford Ranger Cup - New South Wales vs South Australia at SCG

the mighty redbacks have been travelling alright as of late: a bit of form being shown by the top 4 or 5 batsman.

Good innings today by Tommy Cooper: 101 off 108 balls, he's been well backed up by Younus Khan (29), Callum Ferguson (51), Choc and Dan Christian are finishing it off at this moment in time - showing some real form and sitting at 276/5 off 49 overs.

I still can't believe some of the guys we've picked up this year: Coops, Maxy Klinger and Younus Khan. They're getting us mountains of runs, which is something we've been needing for a long while, but it is fantastic to see. Our bowlers are starting to come good and if we can Shaun Tait fully fit - he's playing today so it's a start - then we should be a force to be reckoned with.

Re: Ford Ranger Cup - New South Wales vs South Australia at SCG

alright we've finished up at 285/5 off our 50 overs with 9 runs coming off the last over from Aaron Bird - this should be good for us!

GO REDBACKS!

Re: Ford Ranger Cup - New South Wales vs South Australia at SCG

well we got an early wicket: not quite the guy i would have liked - but we won't complain about getting Phil hughes out. We need Dave Warner out because he has the ability to win the game off his own bat.

38/1 off 5 Overs. Shaun Tait has the wicket and Warner is on 27 off only 17 balls. Ed Cowan is out there with Warner at the moment and he's slowly starting. Come on boys.

Re: Ford Ranger Cup - New South Wales vs South Australia at SCG

Ice Cleary has just dismissed Ed Cowan bowled for 7.

We still need Warner out at this stage - but having Cowan dismissed isn't too bad. Henriques joins Warner and this could be interesting now.

Re: Ford Ranger Cup - New South Wales vs South Australia at SCG

WE GOT HIM!!

Warner gone after a BRILLIANT catch by Younus Khan

43/3

we needed that one!

Re: Ford Ranger Cup - New South Wales vs South Australia at SCG

NSW in real trouble. SA have been impressive in the last couple of games, they've left their run a little too late though.

Re: Ford Ranger Cup - New South Wales vs South Australia at SCG

..and another one bites the dust

Steve Smith gone - trapped plumb in front by Ice Cleary.

51/4 off 11.5 Overs

Re: Ford Ranger Cup - New South Wales vs South Australia at SCG

Cleary gets another, ball stays low to Steve Smith who misses and is struck dead in front. Smith doesn't even bother to wait for the umpire's decision and walks anyway.

4/51 in the 12th over. Going to need a huge recovery to win this one.

Re: Ford Ranger Cup - New South Wales vs South Australia at SCG

Thornley out now, Peter Nevill to the crease

64/5 after 15.3 Overs

Re: Ford Ranger Cup - New South Wales vs South Australia at SCG

oh yeah! another one!

64/6 after 15.4 Overs

this is becoming a rout!

Peter Nevill gone LBW. Ice with 3 and NSW are in trouble!

Re: Ford Ranger Cup - New South Wales vs South Australia at SCG

Another one, Henriques plays a huge drive outside off stump but only nicks it to Graham Manou giving Dan Christian his first wicket.

7/64 in the 17th over.

New South Woeful.

Re: Ford Ranger Cup - New South Wales vs South Australia at SCG

HOW GOOD IS THIS!

64/7 with Henriques gone!

We needed him too - he certainly can change a game too.

Two test star Hauritz at the crease along with Aaron Bird

Re: Ford Ranger Cup - New South Wales vs South Australia at SCG

keep them to 142 or less for the Double Bonus point - and i'll be cheering from the roof tops.

Re: Ford Ranger Cup - New South Wales vs South Australia at SCG

9/112 in the 31st over, Haberfield has the last two wickets, both bowled.

Hauritz on 24, Bollinger on 1.

What a smashing.

Re: Ford Ranger Cup - New South Wales vs South Australia at SCG

All over. Hauritz edges behind off Cullen and Manou takes a good catch behind the stumps.

NSW are all back in the pavillion for 112, SA win by 174 and secure a double bonus point. Amazingly this puts SA back into contention for the final as they have three games still to play. NSW are out of it and it looks like they may win the wooden spoon.

What a one-sided game, I thought this might be a close encounter but SA were far too good and the Blues' batting was just terrible.

Man of the Match was Tom Cooper.

Re: Ford Ranger Cup - New South Wales vs South Australia at SCG

Fantastic effort by South Australia. I thought they'd win but not by that much.

Re: Ford Ranger Cup - New South Wales vs South Australia at SCG

brilliant, brilliant, brilliant victory.

double bouns point, all showing form, the boys moving off the bottom of the ladder.

Just brilliant!

GO THE REDBACKS!

Re: Ford Ranger Cup - New South Wales vs South Australia at SCG

Better watch out for the Redbacks, they look like they're hitting form at the right time, Vics should take care of them though:p
