Improve reaction time

We have a young player who is rather 'slow' in moving his feet when batting, slow in fielding.

Are there drills we can use to improve his reaction time for batting and fielding?

have you gotten him on his balls of his feet and alert?
to react quickly you have to be on the balls of you feet with your momentum wanting to go forward.
i'm not too sure about the drills, just constant practice, but make sure that he is using the correct techniques, like for fielding, staying low and head over the centre of gravity and the like, same with batting.

Thanks for that. I have not met him much since the thread started because of personal committments. Will look at him in coming weeks.
