Kenya v Bermuda, 2nd ODI, Nov 12

Kenya won the opener yesterday fairly comfortably. They'll be looking to clinch the 3-match series with a second win today.

Bermuda won the toss and will bat first again.

Kwame Tucker is out early, Bermuda 7/1 after 4 overs.

Re: Kenya v Bermuda, 2nd ODI, Nov 12

Great start from Kenya.

Peter Ongondo 3 overs, 3 maidens. Odoyo the wicket caught and bowled.
Here's hoping they keep it up.

:D

Re: Kenya v Bermuda, 2nd ODI, Nov 12

Another wicket for Odoyo.

Bermuda paying the price for trying to up the run rate.

Good to see some solid batting from Hemp and J. Tucker. Now the pressure is on the bowlers again. Mooky has his work cut out for him

Kenya 186/3 after 37.5 overs.
Kenya wins by 7 wickets
Kenya wins the series 2-0
Tikolo finished on 60*, and Mishra finished on 64*
Quality batting from the both of them.

Leverock was Bermuda's most ecnomical bowler, with 20 runs and a wicket from 9 overs (9 was the max, due to the shortened game). Good to see Hemp score some runs today for Bermuda. THis is more along the lines of what I was expecting from him.

Not really just them, in the first innings Varaiya's 2 wickets removed two dangerous batsmen at a crucial point and Ongondo bowled economically yet again - as with many good bowling partnerships, if one end is tied down, the other often gets wickets. Ongondo's first three overs were maidens. Odhiambo may have been expensive, but he did remove both Tucker and Jones who were scoring quickly, so probably saved the score from being 15 runs higher or so.

Batting wise, Kenya were also always on top. Even though we lost a couple of early wickets, both openers scored at over a run a ball and this was enough to keep Kenya ahead of the required run rate for the whole innings. Only Suji was disappointing, but I won't get started on that...

Yes those three players stood out, but it was again a good team performance. Also good to see that there seems to be some reserve left in the tank.

Re: Kenya v Bermuda, 2nd ODI, Nov 12

so what would be the consensus on Bermuda after these two matches/ as expected, worse, or better? ( i am sure not better as they lost both).

I think Kenya is a world class team..In 2003 World cup they reached into the semis... so it is very hard to beat a team like Kenya but Bermuda really play well and Bermuda reached the world cup... so i think they can do much better than this in the world cup......

Re: Kenya v Bermuda, 2nd ODI, Nov 12

kenya only has 2 batsman n a few good bowlers but the lack of match fitness on bermy's(bermuda) part has alot to do wit it as well

Playing Kenya was always going to be tough team to beat, even though they lost, there were some positives. There were individual improvements, particularly in the bowling area< Mukaddem & Steede performed well, youngster Malachi Jones did great on his debut against world class competition, so even though they lost both games there were some positives. Thery have one more game tomorrow, I'm hoping they would pull together and pull off a win.
