Length

Has any one got a graphic showing what is considered to be a good length, full, short etc.

I'm interested in having something to use as teaching aid for my younger brothers and cousins.

Re: Length

There's a few "Hawkeye" graphics on the Cricinfo websites, I've found several in the past on the Aussie version that show side versions of bowlers deliveries. If you're in the UK some or at least one of the monthly magazines has the same things as well.

Re: Length

Looking at Manee's picture - does this mean that a good length ball is one that bounces to reach the crease about waist height? Or does the bounce not come into it and it's literally the distance from the batsman that the ball lands?

Re: Length

Generally I would say that length is determined by the point at which the ball pitches, hence the phrase 'bounce from a good length' rather than just calling it 'short of a length'.

I would say that a good length ball bounces to on or just above the top of the stumps.
