Nehra is back from injury

Ashish Nehra who has spent more time recovering from various injuries than playing on field is apparently fully fit after undergoing physiotherapy in Australia.

Nehra whose chances of making it into the Indian team looks dim has been relegated to the sidelines like his former mate Zaheer Khan.

Indeed it will be a miracle if Nehra makes it to the Indian team in the foreseeable future, particularly with Greg Chappell not quite fancying his spunk and attitude. And form and fitness. And ?.. you know what we mean ?

For possibly the first time in the history of Indian cricket, there is an excess of fast bowlers. There are so many bowlers like Balaji, Khan, Nehra, RP Singh, VRV Singh, Munaf Patel, Sreesanth, SS Paul, etc. competing for a few spots.

Nehra-- he may get back into the team on the back of some solid domestic performances. However, I think Team India is willing to allow Sreesanth and Munaf get used to international cricket.

I think it will be hard for Nhera to come back into the team now, a good solid domestic performance might do the trick, but I feel India will stick with the young guns.

RP Singh is not that promising. He is in the same mould as Irfan Pathan, with almost similar speed and the same weapon - swing. RP with his height can extract disconcerting bounce but we have Munaf to do that! So I dont have too much hopes on RP making it big!

No way Nehra will make it back to the team. Maybe a couple 10 wicket hauls in the domestic season, but he is such a crappy player! He can't control his swing, he's expensive, and hes not all that big of a wicket taker. But when its his day, he will hit big. Balaji, however i feel hasn't been given as long as a string as say, Nehra! I think Balaji and Irfan should open the bowling for india as they did vs the Aussies and Pakistan. Then we should have either Munaf or Sreesanth as the third seamer. Bhajji as the spinner and with the form of Yuvi with the ball he could be the 5th bowler.

Nehra is a good bowler...but some how he always gets injured. May be due to his bowling action...

We do need to bear in mind that Nehra is the fastest of the lot that we have right now. Albeit VRV Singh is quicker but he needs some working yet. Nehra has that pace and cotrol to go with it. It will not be so tough to be in the team with that combination. One factror that could hold him back is the fact that he is a big liability on the field and does not get along with Harbhajan Singh and a few others.
Lets see what happens.

I disagree that nehra is the fastest bowler we have. Sreesanth is probably our choice, with good pace and better control then Nehra. Also, bear in mind that Pathan was very quick vs SL, but was bowling slower against england just because of the pitches. I bet in the quick WI pitches he'll be bowling in the 140's consistantly.

I bumped into him quite a few times in Adeliade. thats where he was undergoing treatment for his injury. did seem to be having a good time considering most of the times i saw him was either at the casino or at some club.

It is always good to have more competition, and Nehra is a different kind of bowler then Pathan os RVS and can be lethal in certain comnditions, remember the world cup?

Yeah, but that was a 1 time deal. He can never do it again. Pathan Consistantly picks up 2-3 wickets in the first 15, and picks up sometimes 1 more in the death. He is in a whole different group than Nehra. Frankly, Nehra sucks big time.

Yup thats 100% true...he will always be there whenever india needs someone.
