Practicing fast bowling on your own

Re: Practicing fast bowling on your own

I imagine that Texas has a fair bit of open space! Tennis courts aren't a bad option though, as they tend to be self contained so it saves on chasing cricket balls too much.

oh yea space is not a problem but due to soo much space distance is a problem...the main cricket ground which is like 5 grounds in one park is about 45- 1hr from my house but there is still alot of cricket that goes on

The main thing is to bowl, as that is the best drill. You can add accuracy work into it but it's an all round thing.

Sort out a fitness plan which involves some strength work, core work, flexibility and helps to work on explosive power. They are all key elements of bowling fast.

If you're practicing with balls on concrete/tarmac your best bet is Hockey balls. Slazenger make a Hockey ball out of plastic that weighs 5.5oz and is the same size as a cricket ball. They're dimpled so you can get some grip on them and the bounce is very similar to a cricket ball and they're excellect for practicing on hard surfaces in places like tennis courts.
