England all-rounder Ravi Bopara has signed a one-year contract extension to keep him at Essex until the end of the 2010 season.
Bopara, 22, signed the new deal just before flying out with the rest of the England squad for their Test series against Sri Lanka.
Although he has yet to make his debut in the longest form of the game he has already been capped 19 times in one-day internationals and has become an increasingly important part of Essex's side.
Great being an Essex fan, i can see him being a sure part of the England Test and ODI setup in the next year. He is one of a couple of great upcoming talents in english cricket.
Is he really only 22? I thought he was about 25/6! Good for Essex in getting him on board long term, although they may not see much of him in the future.
