The Big One- Champions Trophy: Australia v England

so who else is excited fo this one? is it a preview of who will dominate this coming summer? both squads shouldn't change all that much come January, so it should provide a decent preview.

Re: The Big One- Champions Trophy: Australia v England

Englands ODI form is shocking at the moment, so i am looking at a comfortable win for the Aussies.

Re: The Big One- Champions Trophy: Australia v England

If we can't beat a poor England side we are in trouble prior to the World Cup.

I'd play Johnson instead of Hogg and place Katich in the middle order.

Re: The Big One- Champions Trophy: Australia v England

Can't say that I'm 'that' excited... I'll be watching for sure, with a sixpack of Bundy Dry and Lime, and a pizza by my side. But 'excited' as in OMG it's the ASHES!!!... nah, I'm not that excited.

I would like to see Johnson in the side as well.

Re: The Big One- Champions Trophy: Australia v England

Well, England are 24 - 0 off 5.1 overs and looking comfortable.

This particular competition is a waste of time in my opinion though, the real deal starts in 5 weeks time.

Re: The Big One- Champions Trophy: Australia v England

It's been good for the Aussies since the 16/17th over!

137/7 now.

Is it the pitches this tournament? or have most teams been rather erratic with their play?

Re: The Big One- Champions Trophy: Australia v England

three wickets for shane! way to go. the aussie bowlers are showign their true form, lets hope the bats can get it going right.

Johnson is playing and doing great. He just grabbd another wicket! England are 151-9 at 41.1 overs. Johnson and Watson have three wickets each, with Bracken McGrath and Symonds having one of each.

Re: The Big One- Champions Trophy: Australia v England

everyone knows this competition is crap. it was created just to make some fat cats more $. that being said, England is in control over these aussies, and a win will be inevitable.

a solid last stand we are in the midst of. Oh, and just wait for our bowling- your thought you did bad vs West Indies, just wait and see this.

Re: The Big One- Champions Trophy: Australia v England

well, Australia need only 170 to win. i would think they can do it, but it will be interesting to see how strong the english bowlers will perform.

Re: The Big One- Champions Trophy: Australia v England

After that nice opening partnership, England lost all 10 of their wickets for only 86 runs. So long as the Aussies don't throw their wickets away, I think they'll win this one easily.

Re: The Big One- Champions Trophy: Australia v England

Gilly is gone!

huge wicket for England. Australia 30-1, 4 overs gone, ponting into bat with watson now.

Re: The Big One- Champions Trophy: Australia v England

another wicket, Strauss catches Ponting!

34-2, 2 wickets in two overs.

Re: The Big One- Champions Trophy: Australia v England

Now Ponting gone too, Australia 34-2

they were doing just fine until the lights went out

Re: The Big One- Champions Trophy: Australia v England

Nonetheless, 169 is a very reachable target. And probably not losing too much, with Ponting in to replace Gilchrist.

Oops, spoke too soon... not a duck, but Ponting is out for 1.

Martyn now in to partner Watson, who has produced 21 on his own... before he, too, is now out.

Australia now 3/43 after 6.4 overs.

Re: The Big One- Champions Trophy: Australia v England

wow, Watson bowled by Anderson, 34-3

I was going to suggest that this might turn into a close match, but now I'm afraid that it might turn into a blowout! Symonds will need to be careful here.

Nope, it's Hussey instead.
How do you like that!

Re: The Big One- Champions Trophy: Australia v England

Martyn smashing that boundary will help calm the Aussies' nerves.

His four brings the Baggy Green to 3/40.

Re: The Big One- Champions Trophy: Australia v England

92-3 after 15

Martyn is hitting boundaries here like it's the easiest thing in the world

Harmison has given up 26 runs in just 2 overs. Not good.

It's a 58 run partnership so far. Martyn has scored 46, Hussey has scored 8. Whatever works, I guess.

Re: The Big One- Champions Trophy: Australia v England

Martyn now has his half-century.

Australia now needing 71 runs from 32 overs to win -- currently on 3/99.
