Twent/20 Cricket

I must admit,I dislike Twenty/20 cricket,I find it a total waste of time, and I know for a fact that Australian cricketers hate the game, and it is only used as a money making venture.no skills or brains required for this game,( it reminds me of the games we played in our backyard when I was around 12 years old)slogging is the description I would use.
Also there is no prestige or glory for whoever wins the coming World Cup.
I will certainly not be watching any of the comic matches on TV this next 4or 5 weeks, the recent ODI cup in the Windies was bad enough,in every sense, without having to put up with this drivel. there is only one good type of cricket, and that is Test Cricket,( even though there is no team that can give us any opposition at the moment) <s><img><s> <s><img><s> <s><img><s>

I don't like 20twenty cricket, but I know that the English players take it seriously, as for players like Maddy, Snape, Schofield, James Kirtley, it's revived their international careers!
And it's given Luke Wright an international career.

But over all, stuff the hitting, you need a break after a while, too much slogging and you'll watch a pre recorded Test match for more fun.

Couldn't agree more with you <s><img><s>.

I do think 20Twenty is good though. Some scores would of looked impossible to get 10 years ago but now they are thanks to the competition. <s><img><s>

I do think once its played at a high standard its a little bit of release from the pressures of 50 overs cricket. Played it on monday, and loved it, a chance to show others that you can come out of your skin. Plus for the pro's its more entertaining!

No.
Kirtley has played test and one day cricket, Schofield test cricket, Snape ODI cricket, Maddy one day and test cricket.
Schofield was playing club cricket 2 years ago he's back now.

Do you honestly realise the depth that Australia has with their players???..we have several, nay, many players that are nowhere near playing for their country, yet would most likely walk into most national sides if they chose to "defect", on top of this,we have 4 wicket keepers that the English selectors would "die" for if they had to chance to recruit any one of them, sadly most will miss out on international cricket.

Chris Read is possibly the best keeper in the world now, Gilchrist 10 years ago would of been..

James Foster would get into many other international teams, along with Davies, Geraint Jones could play for Iceland.
Then theres Jon Batty.

England do not need keepers, we are blessed with so many keepers, so when ever one makes a mistake, we know we have a better one waiting around.

We wouldn't die for Ronchi or Paine.
In terms of wicket keeping talent, England is the place, Australia have Gilchrist but we have them coming out of our ears..
