V8 Supercars: Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000
The greatest touring car race on earth is this weekend, with the battle between Holden and Ford set to continue once again. Holden have dominated the mountain for the past decade but Ford have won the last two races there with Craig Lowndes and Jamie Whincup going back to back in 2007.
Lowndes and Whincup were quickest in the final practice session but Holden had a slight ascendecy with six of the top ten cars being Commodores including Championship leader Garth Tander who finished the session 10th quickest overall.
Friday sees two more practice sessions before qualifying in the afternoon. We then head to Saturday with another session of practice before the top ten shootout. Sunday sees a short warm-up session in the morning followed by the big one beginning at 10:30am local time Sunday 12th October (10:30am AEDT, 11:30pm Saturday 11th October GMT).
So, 1000km, 161 laps around one of the best tracks the world has to offer. Who will you be going for? Holden or Ford?
