Warm-up Matches (Aus vs Zim, Can vs Pak, Ban vs NZ, Ind vs Ned)

Four more practice games are on tonight with the eight teams who haven't played yet, having their first hit-outs in the Caribbean.

All four games look to have rather predictable results but it will be interesting to see how the top Associate teams go, Canada and the Netherlands.

Australia vs Zimbabwe

Canada vs Pakistan

Canada won the toss and chose to bowl first. So far, Pakistan has made a steady but subdued start. They are 1/22 after six overs. Younis Khan fell to a less than favourite player on here, Anderson Cummins :)D) who has 1/11 off his three overs so far.

Imran Nazir is not out 10.

Bangaladesh vs New Zealand

India vs Netherlands

Luuk van Troost has won the toss and has sent India in. This game also has live ball-by-ball commentary!!! :eek:

First over from Jonkman is an absolute shocker.

1nb . 5nb 4 1nb 1 1nb . . 3nb 1nb .

That's a total of 17 runs. None of us have seen that much footwork since Michael Jackson released Thriller.

Australia vs Zimbabwe

No scores received so far but Australia have won the toss and will bat first.

Canada vs Pakistan

Pakistan are 3/64 after 15 overs. Nazir fell for 26 and Mohammad Yousuf could only muster 21.

Cummins, Osinde and Bhatti have one wicket each.

Bangladesh vs New Zealand

New Zealand is big trouble early on. They sit precariously at 3/47 after 16 overs. Ross Taylor made 11 with Vincent bowled for 4 and Fleming was out for a duck. Scott Styris is holding the innings up so far with 21 and is currently at the crease.

Mashrafe Mortaza has 2/22 with Syed Rasel 1/17.

India vs Netherlands

India are in the box seat so far with a solid start. They are 0/60 after 10 overs with Sehwag on 27 and Ganguly 19.

Netherlands bowling has been wayward so far, they've given up 14 extras inluding 7 no balls and 6 wides.

Canada is doing very well against Pakistan so far, a good start indeed

AUS-ZIM

I've still got nothing - really bad by the ICC to not get all these scores out.

CAN-PAK

Surprisingly, Canada are on top in this one. Pakistan are 82/4 after 19.2 overs, Henry Osinde is 2-12 from just 3.2 overs and Bhatti and Cummins each have one wicket. There was just a delay to fix the sightscreen that fell over :O

BAN-NZL

New Zealand are 52/4 after 16 overs - Mortaza has 3-22 from 7 overs, Styris is 21 not out right now.

IND-NED

India are 106/3 after 20 overs, ten Doeschate is 2-27 from 5 overs.

New Zealand 103-6 v Bangladesh

Pakistan 154-4 after 33 v Canada


Bangladesh putting up a great fight against the Kiwis. The Dutch bowlers don't seem to have many deliveries that really bother the Indians though.

Apparently Bangladesh bowling was rather expensive for the final 10 overs.

Not a bad first over, a wicket maiden with the wicket being Inzamam with his eye in! Granted, it's a warmup match, but I'm getting a little excited with Canada's effort. My excitement is always guarded, though. Aaaaalways guarded.

Good job by the Dutch bowlers here towards the end, picking up a few wickets and limiting runs.

India finishes on 300/9 after their allotted 50 overs. Let's see how they reply to the chase.

The Pakistan-Canada match has been reduced to 48 overs per side.

Pakistan has finished their innings at 273-8.

Mid-way through that innings Canada looked like they might have been able to reach Pakistans target, but it seems as if they let Pakistan get away in the later overs. It's gonna be a tough target for Canada to reach. We could use another big batting preformance by Bilcliff and Barnett.

Bangladesh 66-0 after the first 13 overs. A good start to their chase.

Canada is 28-0 for 4 overs. Barnett with 7, Samad with 11. Pakistan have already given 10 extras! (7 wides, and 3 no balls)

A headsup for you Breakwood - cricketeurope has much more recent updates than cricinfo for most of the matches, including Canada-Pakistan

The Canadians are 61/1 after 12 overs, looking like they've got a shot.

Canada is doing very well, I hope they can keep the runs going, we may have an upset on our hands. Go Canada!

Unfortunately the good batting hasn't continued, and Pakistan's bowlers have stepped up their game. Rao has 3 wickets, Canada are 101/5 from 23 overs. Their required run rate is nearing 7.

The two associate teams have taken decided different tracks in their run chases today. The Netherlands have batted very carefully, and until quite recently have held on to their wickets. After 30 overs they are 102/5. Canada came out swinging and haven't stopped - they've lost wickets regularly though, and are 154/7 after 34 (of 48) overs.

The NZ/Bang and Aus/Zim matches have had no score updates since lunch. Really disappointing on the ICC and CWC committee's parts not to have these scores more readily available.

Well now that the Lyon champions league match is done (dont even talk to me about it :() I see that Canada has no chance at overcomming Pakistan. It was a brave effort but it fell apart near the end. Oh well! It's only a warmup.
