I have one of my lads who wears one, doesn't make him look a poser or arrogant, but does help stop sweat being a distraction, so more of a practical thing. All I would say is that you probably need to back it up a bit by playing the odd longer innings ie to actually sweat whilst in the middle, and if you do go with it wear it in the nets too (no different to arm guard - if you intend to play in it, practice in it)
