this is my pick on form, it took around 5 minutes to think about so there will be errors. unlucky was flintoff (i think he has more potential than kallis but on form ill go kallis) i allmost consider mitch an allrounder now, i think he can average 30/35 with the bat if he keeps his form. i think sharma is the best fast bowler in the world at the moment.

smith vcpt
pieterson
sangakarra wkt
ponting cpt
kallis allrounder
yousuf
duminy
mitch
stein
sharma
murali

Yes, a few mistakes in there.

1, M Yousuf does not play Test cricket anymore ( but there is still hope).
2, K Pietersen is not an opener.
3, Stein is spelt Steyn

are you saying pieterson couldnt open ??

Re: Your Test World XI?

Pietersen is not an opener, will never be an opener, and would never agree to opening the batting. Why pick a middle order batsman to open the batting when there are decent enough openers knocking about the world game?

My Team:

Graeme Smith *
Gautam Gambhir
Sachin Tendulkar
Kevin Pietersen
Jacques Kallis
Shivnarine Chanderpaul
Brendon McCullum +
Mitchell Johnson
Zaheer Khan
Dale Steyn
Muttiah Muralitharan

Re: Your Test World XI?

Ok here's mine. Now, now, I don't mind people commenting on my team, but saying whether it is right or wrong isn't for you guys to decide. This thread involves peoples' opinions and I guess they should be entitled to have one without everybody going "Oh but you're horribly wrong there, that is impossible." (e.g: Kevin Pieterson opening. :p)

Graeme Smith
Kumar Sangakkara (WK)
Ricky Ponting
Kevin Pieterson
Shivnarine Chanderpaul
Mahendra Singh Dhoni (C)
Andrew Flintoff
Brett Lee
Muttiah Muralitharan
Dale Steyn
Umar Gul

Re: Your Test World XI?

pieterson would love to open, just explain to him the added air time his mellon would get on TV and he"d jump at the chance, i dont subscribe to this specialist opening batsmen theory, if you can bat you can bat. especialy in a a fantasy team.

Very similar to King Pietersen's. His line-up was near perfect. Although Sangakkara no longer keeps I'd give him the gloves.

Re: Your Test World XI?

Wow. I actually didn't know that. Maybe swap the two then. I thought Khan had been alot better than those stats suggest.
