Eat my words. Good decision but should have been made an hour ago.

Only comp in Melbourne playing/attending grounds today. Absolute farce.

The DVCA rules allow for the round to be called off at this very minute! The executive/ground committee has the authority to make any decision they deem fit when adverse weather is in effect. 34 at 10.00 in Viewbank, give you the tip it's not going to get any cooler.

Common sense decision by ECA, most grades called off tomorrow with another decision at 9am for the Shield grades.

One of the main issues is the umpires, some of whom are in their 70's. Unfortunately with duty of care etc, we're stuck with it.

Hopefully we'll see some common sense prevail with an early calling off of the round IF the forecast doesn't change and it is already warming up, by say, 10am. Otherwise there is nothing surer than games will play for no more than an hour then be called off.

Not trying to throw the cat amongst the pidgeons or cause issues on here, but why not do it like the amateur footy. Two up (being the two GF winners from MS) - two down. Creates a lot of interest.

I would be very interested to know who you think may have 'signed' from the HDCA. From what I've heard, the HDCA clubs are meeting on the 28th of March to discuss all their options - one of which is to create an elite A grade competition with a select handful of NMCA clubs.
