Despite the chaos created by the weather this is shaping up as a fascinating season. All sides in Jika Shield have a shot at the title. The comp is struggling with numbers at the upper end but competition is still strong.

Unless the shield grades become 6 instead of 8. Would give the comp a bit more bite rather than having weaker sides rounding out Jika Shield.

Comp has been left in an awful position by that last dysfunctional and corrupt board. We need a point of difference to the DVCA now to keep our comp alive and that may well be turning it into a one day/T20 comp and maybe even reducing the overs in the Shield Grades. Losing Rivergum, Dennis and...
