Yallah straight from my earlier post (I've put in bold the ones re growth) :
the standard of facilities/grounds is far superior in ECA
the amount and standard of umpires is signifigantly higher in ECA
the level of behaviour is signifigantly higher in ECA
ECA have a firm 'no dickheads' policy...
I disagree Yallah, I think ECC put as firmly as we could that we would be highly unlikely to be part of a merger with NMCA. That was also expressed to the HDCA management committee. After the proposal came out we did our due diligence and studied it, including speaking to numerous people...
DJ Yallah, Hanz Lowman, Jika One Edinburgh has a number of reasons for not joining the new NECA (which won't go ahead as Banyule are tipped to follow ECC and EISCC to Eastern). These have been spelled out to the HDCA executive for the past 6 months. Anyone who was at the last meeting of HDCA...
Bugsy I can 100% guarantee to you that Edinburgh has not signed to play with the NMCA, Edinburgh has been there before and found that it is an apalling competition that is dying even faster than HDCA. 100% will not happen.
Some more to be learnt out of last night is that there are 6-10 clubs opposed to it for a number of different reasons. However it is important to remember that there are a combined total of close to 60 clubs.
Having spoken personally to a number of members on each of the executives I can tell...
Bundoora is correct, as it is a new competition and not an official merger between the three competitions no vote is necessary. Clubs will be invited to join the NCL.
In regards to opposition I imagine a lot of the bigger clubs would relish the opportunity to play cricket at the highest level...
Can tell you that there won't be any real or binding vote as it is not necessary. This is proceeding and the consultation is about structure and meeting the needs of the respective clubs and organisations, not about whether it goes forward.
I think you'll find that ECC captain spoke to umpires said we're not going back on ground also spoke to HDCA Secretary and said same thing, both umpires and Secretary agreed with ECC skipper. There was no way that game was continuing just like there is no way Nth Heidelberg will be continuing
While it is true North Heidelberg players were shocked and appalled by this incident (how couldn't they be?) don't make it seem like they called the game off. The HDCA called the game off in conjunction with their umpires and both teams as soon as they heard about the incident. Gawn is right I...
Are you kidding? Would be absolutely amazed and disappointed if some sort of action wasn't taken against the club. I don't think they should be turfed out, but a substantial fine and probation at the very least would seem appropriate.
